As per request...

Had to minimise the creator a few times to double-check certain features against a real DM dragon (used the Encyclopaedia), but I'm pretty sure this is fairly accurate...he doesn't breathe fire, though ;). Haven't actually compared it to a proper DM dragon myself yet, not side by side...I'll have a look-see now ;).

Now that is pretty damn impressive! Superb work, well done!

Oh, we really need to make Spore Strikes Back, could be really fun!

:D

EDIT: The only thing I'd change would be to give him a longer tail that curls around the body.

I did want to give him a long tail, but unfortunately his spine wouldn't stretch any further (it was already at maximum length) and you can't make tails curl round like that...presumably it'd get in the way if you gave them five legs or something.
I've registered with YouTube so I can show him off properly - I have a video uploading as I type this (for 1 min 40 secs it's taking ages...although I suppose vids are large...). Oh yeah, Spore (well, the creature creator at least) has a built-in video recorder that can film creature antics for up to two minutes. You can see my dragon dude in action as soon as it's finished uploading - I'll link it here :).

i got the same tail problem for my purple wyvern, but as said above, there's some manual work to do on those pics. for the wyvern, i made the tail with a cropped part of another image (back view) of the original Spore creature.. and a few brush strokes.

Alright here we go...behold my dragon in action .

There are other actions that creatures can perform, but I couldn't show them all in two minutes so I just showed some of 'em :).

Brilliant! That's really good Ameena, cool work.

I think we might have been a lot less scared in the original DM if old Red had started dancing about on that lowest level. ;-)

Darn, I really want to play with this creator!

There are six different dances creatures can do...I only showed off a few of them :).
I'm wondering what I shall make tonight...maybe something else from DM, or maybe another random creature. Meh, I'll see what I end up doing I suppose :).

Fantastic way to create new monster for Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder.

Does the program extacts the monsters or as static images or as a 3D model?

Or you need to capture from screen and clear the background with Photoshop?

Very nice Idea.

Linflas,
ahhh Gambit you should really have a look at it ! that's a wonderful base for monsters, and when you choose black background, the image is saved in PNG format with transparency !!!

unfortunately, trial version do not provide wings...
About this Image.

You have create a new Dungeon Master? Where do we find it.
I am interesting to play this new dungeon.

Or if you could give us information how to crop the monsters from Spore Creature Creator.

Thank you...

takis76gr, Linflas' project is called Forest of Doom, it is under construction and won't be finished anytime soon. You can check it out in the Custom Dungeons section.

there's nothing to crop : there's transparency in the generated image when using black background.
the image -as it is- can be used in RTC, but i recommend to resize it with some image tool that keeps transparency.

Alright, so he's a blob on the ground but there's no way of making him permanently hover except for when I'm actualyl editing him ;).

Lol...it doesn't have any legs on which to jump, and while there are body parts that enable creatures to spit things (I've no idea what it is they actually spit...poison or something, presumably), it'd probably be tricky to attach one subtly enough to a Beholder to make it look as though it's not there. I had to do that with the mouth (all creatures must have a mouth before you can save 'em), but got away with it by putting it on the front, shrinking it right down, then putting the eye on top of it .
Anyway, here's a vid of him...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mas2Mm29jJY
I'd've linked it last night but it was late and these things always take ages to upload and then have to finish "processing" (I've no idea how long that takes as I've always shut the comp down and gone to bed at that stage ;)).

Hmmm - CSB paints from behind to the front into a viewport-bitmap. Perhaps possible to mix these bitmaps (in different stages) with OpenGL-monsters. And maybe it is more complicated to add this to CSBwin than to my plain simple source using Allegro. I can imagine that this can be realized with AllegroGL then. But - let me come to an end first. I also have no idea if those things here can be imported in any way at all.
