Game crashes when pausing while dying

If you happen to press ESC right after you're party has been surprisingly got a lethal hit (like a fireball from LC, happens if you want to pause the game and move your finger towards the ESC key without being aware of that LC fireball only inches away from your party's back), the game instantly shuts down (without any error message).
