why must you use proxy
What makes you think that he 'must'?
I assumed that he did it voluntarily as
a kind jesture to us sensitive folks who
were expecting something that was
simply funny.

right, those who get it, get it regardless.. plus those who like the more offensive words of the language have options to fit any of their favorites in there they like ;)

besides, I didn't use proxy words.. just added a "****" which is more like a fill in the blank ;)

Now, to me that is 'strong' language.
What was *****'d was rather weak
language, in my book. To be used
when emotions deny a person the
mental agility to find the right words.

It seems that with no regard to what the people start talking about, all the topics in this forum tend to lead to only a few - and still the same, easily predictible - (dead) ends.

That's because some people can't leave a finished disagreement alone. :(

Seriously Sophia, is it really necessary to bring all this up again? We know you don't like proxy words, we know Cowsman does, we've discussed it to death. You two aren't going to agree, so just leave it at that. Why raise the issue again? This is getting very boring and tiresome and doesn't help anyone in any new way whatsoever.

I thought we had agreed to disagree, that's why this forum is here. Some will swear here and some won't. Some will use proxy words and some won't. It's as simple as that. End of. Accept. Move on.

Oh, the holiday season is now definitely, officially over-- Gambit and I are once again at odds. ;)
Gambit37 wrote:That's because some people can't leave a finished disagreement alone. :(
And by some people you clearly mean me! Or do you mean some people... like Cows? Like Paul? Like you?

Seriously, if you want to jump on me for just making a stupid remark, fine, but jump on everyone who replied, too. I was perfectly content to leave things be with my rolling of eyes-- I very well could've posted a counterargument and really got this all rolling again. Believe it or not, I was trying to not agitate things too much. However, to quote you, "I felt like it needed to be said and I said it."

Anyway, while you're at it, jump on yourself for chiming in with a patronizing lecture when it was almost out of steam once again after a couple posts-- nobody wants to do this all again. Honest.

Ok, and some will swear and then delete a few letters from it or add *'s or do whatever else in order to pretend like they're not. As long as we're all clear that that is all that is really happening, I'm fine. :P

Stop picking fights, both of you, or I'll write a novel about you!
You two will be locked forever in a creation of mine, which you should know by now, is not advisable.
And I write awfully.

Zyx, your book would not be a best seller. I doubt it would make a return.

This conversion is f***ing amusing :D (at least with my proxy words, they don't require much thought)

In my opinion, proxy words are for those that wish to use them. I could say "What the fuck?", or I could say "What the f**k?"... Both of them are the same. One just has a "Jerry Springer style" beeping out. Censorship is for those that wish to censor thier posts... I, myself, rather to censor MY posts. I could give a s**t if someone else decides to say "fuck", instead of censoring it.

And that, my friends, is my 2 cents worth.

It's like Gambit says. It's done with.

It may have been a mistake for me to even say anything; one I'll now correct. Locked.
