Sorry to burst the bubble, but I don't think it came out on the 15th. I have some stats that Doug Bell gave me about DM and he said it came out on either 17th or 18th Dec 1987.

Regarding the DM release date, I settled on December 15, 1987 after reading conversations in this file:

Look at messages from "Mon Dec 14, 1987" and later. If we trust dates and messages there, it means the first copies were released between the 14th and 16th of December 1987.
