just thought I'd show you all a little clip of what our recent grads did..

Waaah - that's much too fast for old eyes! I'd really like to enjoy the scenes some more, think there's nothing you have to hide by speed. And replace that tank by a dragon - I hate tanks
(those canadians make me shiver more and more )

It's a pity that - except of Anno 1404 and Morrowind - those are all shooters.
At the moment I'm playing older stuff (that I finally can run now) - and I really like the atmosphere and graphics of the two Drakensang games. I'm really really satisfied with the quality of the graphic of Drakensang 2.
Progressing ahead in an university is one thing - but how can this all be realized for games so that is finally some money left to create a sequel or a new project? Then again people request a very high standard nowadays - there is no relation to that what they want to pay for it anymore. Even using high developed engines won't help here soon.

Oh hiding things is certainly not our goal, The thing is the amount of work that goes into shots like these are quite involved that typically the shots are short. We also wanted to keep it short to have people wanting to see more. The majority of the first class is represented here, with one clip from each.. you can feel free to hunt down their reels online here's one of them http://amberng.com/ I don't have everyone's website memorized.. several people worked together on some of these shots too..
Anyway, the shark that was Andy Chan and Kyle He who did the shark thing.. very harry potter or Gandalf inspired I think..

Something I've been meaning to say for a few days now, and that's, great video, it does give an excellent snapshot of what the students in Capilano's program can do. I'd love to see what the students who made those clips can come up with in a few years when they've all graduated, if there this good now, while they're still learning imagine how good they'll be when they have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience...

Wow, it's so cool the way stuff can just be put together like that, where they add loads of extra bits into a real-life backdrop to create a new, part-CGI scane .

Yeah, they spend 2 years learning how to do it all.. and spend a lot of time making these shots.. it's painstaking at times, but pretty cool when you get to see your vision completed..
