Don't know why I didn't post this one earlier, as it's one of my favourite 8-bit games (although this screenshot is from the Atari ST version)....

No idea about that last one Saumun. But it seems to have a tomato in it. So I'm making a complete guess at the only game I know with a tomato in it:

You got it, Erik! It is indeed . I also hammered it on the Spectrum... then when I upgraded to 16-bit, it was one of the games that came with the computer. Never did complete it though.

The stonework walls? Pristine. The floor? Level. The waterworks? Flowing. Central heating? The Dragon in the basement was grumpily heating the pipes. Lord Chaos consulted the blueprints again, looking for the bathroom. #playmygame!
Re: Guess the game
Been racking my brain for the last day on this last one, and still can't think of it.
Looks familiar but I give up!
Seriously didn't think I'd fail on a spectrum game (or is it from an older Sinclair machine?)

Look to the ZX81 - and part of the title is in the screenshot, . [it is ridiculously obscure, sorry]

Re: Guess the game
Aah... I did wonder. The font and cursor immediately made me think of the spectrum, then I realised it could have been one of it's predecessors.
I never had a zx81, so can't have played it. Looks strangely familiar though. Maybe I've seen it somewhere else.
Anyway... I'm still none the wiser.

Re: Guess the game
I've never owned a ZX81, or even seen one as far as I'm aware, but if the title is in the screenshot then is it called something like "Rescue the Princess" or something?

Re: Guess the game
ok, perhaps too obscure: .
and on side B, there was another game, 'Sorceror's Island' written in BASIC. You had to go fight monsters and navigate a map, again. And it was in here I found that you could edit the text so you could be attacked by a giant sock, and so on.
Anyway, the ZX81: it gave us 'Dungeon Master' :-
So many of these games - I have played, or read about most of them. Some I even know the guys who wrote them: and yes, Tanglewood was an amazing game, ... surprisingly I've not played may adventure games... Amazingly, no one seems to have posted or .
Anyway, enough of talking to myself:-
try this one:-
I knew someone who worked on this, and it was a great little gem: converted from the Amstrad CPC 464 (part of the original 10-game bundle, no less) to a computer platform you probably did own, circa 1984 (?).

Re: Guess the game
Ah, now this is one I know. That would be . Don't remember conversions, but a kid across the street had a 464 with that very same game pack. I think it also had Harrier Attack and a couple of Roland games, but beyond that I'm struggling to remember.
I also recognise 3D Monster Maze further up, but never played it.

Alan Sugar knew how to sell games...
Yes, the Hampton Court Maze game: took 17 minutes to load and crashed on level 2 - so you did not miss much
ok... for bonus points: can anyone name this prolific games cover artist?
[always fun to spot where he borrowed his models from when putting these together]

Re: Guess the game
No idea about the artist's name, but I remember that picture well.
You can see where he borrowed from, not only in the characters but in the background, and even the poses.
The stance of the guy on the left is almost identical to the cover of Predator.
