Important: planned forum downtime
We are in the process of migrating the management of the domain name dungeon-master.com from one service provider to another.
This may cause some forum downtime in the next few days.
If you find that you cannot access the forum at some point, please be patient and try again later. It will eventually come back.

Migration complete. You may have noticed the forum was not accessible in the past day.
Now the next step is to move the forum software to a new host, I'll try and do that over the next week-end.

Re: Important: planned forum downtime
There will be another short downtime during the week-end while I move the forum to the new host.

Thank you Christophe for sorting all this out. I'll make a separate post about this to explain why these changes were made.

Re: Important: planned forum downtime
My old links don't work. I had always linked to:
https://dungeon-master.com/forum/ucp.php?mode=login
edit: It works fine if I prepend with "www."
It took me two days to discover my problem. ( I had thought
that the site had not yet been moved.)
This is only a problem if you suspect that many others
might have made a similar mistake.

Re: Important: planned forum downtime
In fact, this is because the new host does not support https. Just replace https by http in your address and it should work (with or without the "www.").
Unfortunately I cannot configure anything that would automatically redirect from https to http.

Re: Important: planned forum downtime
No problem. I was just reporting my experience for whatever
it might be worth.
Once more.....and again....Thanks for your efforts in this matter.
I hope we can keep this alive for another couple of decades. I'll likely
be long gone by then. They are starting to replace my parts already.
By the way.....I think this new hosting site is 'quicker' than the old.
It feels more responsive.

I had the same thing, but fortunately I was in contact with Triax via email who sent me a working link.
I knew something was wrong, as I had an email saying I'd got a pm during the time I couldn't access the forum.

Re: Important: planned forum downtime
Hi,
just looking at how the 'active topic' traffic has really dropped off: given that users now need to login via a different link,
https://dungeon-master.com/forum/ucp.php?mode=login becoming
http://dungeon-master.com/forum/ucp.php?mode=login,
is it sensible (or possible) to mail this information to all recently-active users in a bulk-post?
What is the alternative for promoting the new forum:
also, Google SEO also points to the 'https: version... so again not sure what actions can be taken on this front.

The stonework walls? Pristine. The floor? Level. The waterworks? Flowing. Central heating? The Dragon in the basement was grumpily heating the pipes. Lord Chaos consulted the blueprints again, looking for the bathroom. #playmygame!
