Damage formulas
How many and which attributes increase when you level up?
What is the chance that magic works?
Among others.

Damage is a complex issue. See the "!! Some NEW tricks !!" thread for a bit of information on some of the variables. Depends on more than just which weapon you're wielding. Also maybe how long it has been since you have been attacked, which level of the dungeon you're on, and what your hidden skills are. Or maybe that's for experience you get.
For the chance that your spells will fail, that's a more complex issue as well. Sophia covers it farther down in the Some NEW tricks thread.
