My laptop makes strange sound just like when we hear when a Windows pop-up message come. But, I don't see any message or pop-up. Since the sound is very bothersome I muted speakers. Any idea about this condition?

I would suggest maybe Googling or looking on a site more specific to laptop problems - this is a rather quiet forum dedicated mainly to a game that came out in 1987 so the chances of someone here having/knowing of your specific issue seem rather low .
