Selie.. something you might want to give a try: Dungeon Master as a "2-Player Game"...

The thing is, Ninja practice can benefit the party right from the start, when most magic users still can't do much if anything in the way of spells... and it's a ways before you find empty flasks to create potions in anyway, so I have everybody start throwing stuff as soon as they leave the Hall of ...

The thing about Eye of the Beholder is that it appeared on the PC market during the time that FTL was working on converting Dungeon Master to the PC. Unfortunately it took them so God-awful long to get the game out that by the time it appeared, EOB and Ultima Underworld had both had time to become ...

Ah... my "little girl" is a bit older than you. We used to play Mario Bros., M.U.L.E. and Bubble Bobble all the time, along with Dungeon Master of course!

The step forward and back technique is all about timing- if you do it right, you can keep the monster from moving toward you very much, and he ...

Heck- the guys in the back row had better be ready to throw stuff..! Stars, daggers, rocks- whatever they can fill their pockets with..! If they can get in four or five hits on a monster before it gets within striking range, that's just that much faster they can kill the sorry thing- before it sinks ...

Coming in late on this, but anyway-

My solution to the problem of a single Champion carrying a lot of stuff is actually the same as my normal Ninja practicing method for any sized party- Don't CARRY stuff... THROW it..!

Yes, it takes longer this way, but your Champion is never overloaded so he ...

Selie- you must be about the same age as my daughter- we used to wander the Dungeon together, just like you've described... your adventure is bringing back a lot of fun memories..!

It's interesting to hear you "thinking out loud" about the game, and realize that you're going through almost exactly ...
