Re: Legend of Grimrock
we don't know if Almost Human's intention is to make an easy-to-pick-up-and-play action game, or a nuanced roleplaying game We believe that these two options are not mutually exclusive. Our goal is to make a game that is easy to get into but that offers enough depth for the veterans of the genre. F...

Re: Legend of Grimrock
BTW I would appreciate greatly if there would be a "play original DM dungeon" option... The maps are already available via RTC or similar clones. I would love to play the original with the new engine! It is unlikely that we would ever do this for a couple of reasons, for example, copyrigh...

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Oh please! DM was just right the way it was! Actually the challenges of food management and unknown weapons greatly improved game enjoyment. DM was always tricky, but never unfair. The hardest part was probably not the last levels but the one with the accumulating spiders and knights... BTW I would ...

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Whatever! I think the Almost Human guys are really touching that DM thing with great respect.
This should be totally awesome. I bet every single DM veteran will buy one.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
This is the game I have been waiting for! Since the days of "Escape from Dragon Mountain" I had hoped for someone picking up that work. Very nice!!! Please don't forget to include: * Doors can kill Monsters * No Music, just atmosphere! * the real dungeon crawler mind maps the dungeon :) * ...

Well I hope it will actually display anything. I'd be glad to play it with 15 fps... Well I'm using as I said Win2000 and a Transmeta 5800 CPU with roughly 900mhz-1Ghz and a SIS315_315E with 32 MB Video-DDR-SDRAM ... This will be the ultimate test although I must say I had absolutely no performance ...

Trakl - can I ask what spec machine you have please ? Whoah, that's a tough one.... I have a Transmeta 5800 CPU, that is paced around 900mHz-1Ghz, that's what a benchmark test told me once... My gfx is SiS 315_315E, it's a laptop computer. My machine runs well with Escape from Dragon Mountain, an u...

On a positive note - one big plus point is that I have spent the last two days optimizing the code and it is running alot faster than before. I have also included a load of tick boxes for turning directx options on and off, for better/worse computers. You're a genius, DSE! You saved my day. Now I'l...

Wow. This is amazing. Everytime you come up with something even better. Now the monster is actually carrying and wearing stuff and you really see it. I like the lighting and the mist. That's what I wanted to see but no one wanted to deliver: original DM gameplay combined with high tech gfx. Man, I c...

There actually was a very cool Sci-Fi-DM-Clone:
Xenomorph! Very creepy, atmospheric and one of my favourite games back then:
http://www.thelegacy.de/Museum/5917/
Since it was so "easy" to clone DM2 with RTC, maybe someone knows Xenomorph and wants to clone it for the RTC engine.

You definitely have to open the secret wall. It's just on the way to the stairs that lead to the fireball corridor. Look for a small switch. This is important. I tested it multiple times. It works and you will find it if you look for it. The tapestry is just rubbish. You can leave it there, it was j...

-The king (1st one I found) died really fast fighting the second skeletton. I still received his messages, though. Also no VI altar... No bug. That's the first real challenge. With the Horn of Fear you can also make them go away. I don't use VI Altars. I use resume buttons ;-). - Didn't find anythi...

Cool ! Thanks! Maybe I corrected the bug behind the pit before and you got that newer version. Cool! The gag with the getting 4 for the price of three is the last pit: it's invisible. If you push the button below, everything's ok, if you walk over the 3rd pit first, you will notice ;-) Well the bug ...

Never mind leaving that part out. it is near the end - i forgot to connect a pit to a trigger so you won't reach one part... sorry :(( in level 3 (0 is surface...) just do not enter the pit opened by the two big switches. It's near the end of the demo so never mind. you will get past there when I re...
