my strategy. little spoiled, just tips

this contains mostly tips on getting started. Not much spoiler. Experts may take my advice with salt, everyone seems to have differnt strategy that works. That is why this game is so fun.

(don't spoil anything much for me please)

There seem to be so many hardcore opinions here, and I have my own ...

I prefered the way DM 1 was.

The monsters don't respawn, so there was no way to generate more food, you had to keep going, no way to stand around and level up.

there was no cheaty kind of buy the best of everything by returning to kill bats and dinosaurs.

But I guess they calculated all this into ...

Sound Issues

I think before I changed some of the DOSBox settings It was comming through the right channel only. Im too lazy at this point to fix my problem, but you may try differnt sound settings in ...

I don't know if it could be any faster.

It's hard to remember what exactly someones question is without quoting them, but I will try

It ran slowish at 5000 cycles

I switched it to 10000 cycles and full screen. I don't know if it could be any faster. It's perfect

Im not sure if 10000 cycles is harmful or not but I played it for several ...

Hi Im new here, but I still remember everything about this game after 17 years.

after beating the game legitimately, I began to experiment with the
different parties you can form.

I remember using the mana necklace in combination with a staff on a character with 2 or less mana, so they could cast ...

I do remember Stamm being the hero sometimes too!
Mophus was awesome too, he really levels up nice in the back row of the party.

I guess thats the way things are. lol. It's highly playable though, and I can probably adjust some things to make it faster.

Thanks again for helping me out. It's like leading the blind ...

Stupid Question

How do I open jewel boxes?

I remember on DM1 you could put a box in one hand and its contents would be displayed, then you could take things out. This isn't working for DM2.

I can't get the gems and coins out of the boxes.
Also, I had alot of trouble getting things out of treasure boxes, but did ...

Favorite game of all time

Hello. This is my first post.

Dungeon Master for the Atari ST is my favorite game of all time, tied with Gran Tourismo - PS/PS2. Half-Life2 - PC and Archon - Atari 400/800 being next.

Recently I created a thread on a forum for everyone to list thier favorite games of all time. After listing my own ...
