I love both Underworld games. Nearly as much as System Shock.. I have completed both a couple of times, and I'll probably do it yet again some day. They do have their quirks. Like the annoying frictionless ice in UUW2, and the effin void level. But I especially like the inventory system and the auto...

I think the numpad works fine. It's not far from the arrow keys on a normal keyboard, so if you can use the arrow keys, I don't see a problem with numpad. And besides, you can't strafe with the arrow keys (or you can't turn, which is much worse!), which makes them kinda useless..

Yes! :D Cows did.. I was talking about multiple choice questions all the time. Talk about confusion.. :) But I totally agree with you there. Simple and easy for humans, but the answer should not be found on the same page.

Yes, but I think that if the possible answers are displayed and you only have to choose the correct one, a bot can easily try them all and remember whether the answer was correct or not. And every time it tries to do that it knows more and becomes more effective.. That is why I think they should not...

Well, most spammers probably don't build any bots but use the ones that other people have created. That kind of takes away the extra effort. I haven't really studied what usual spam bots are capable of, but if one needs those stupid barely readable captcha images to keep them away, I'd say simple te...

Multiple choice with images or verbal questions wouldn't be anything special in my mind. It would be fairly easy to teach a bot which questions/images and answers go together and it could even automatically try the combinations to find out. There would have to be a ton of different questions or they...

Yes, I knew about getting the very high settings in use, but I didn't try it until yesterday. Looks even better, of course, but it also introduced some lag. Best thing would probably be to tweak the individual parameter values and find a good compromise. I do hope that the finished product doesn't t...

Well to straighten some facts out: Bioshock is made by the same people as System Shock, but when Looking glass went POOF! EA aquired System Shock name, so the original creators couldn't do anything with it. Actually it's made by the same people as System Shock 2 i.e. ex Irrational Games (now 2K Bos...

Well, I guess that one can see similarities in almost every game if little details are considered. Personally I don't see Bioshock being influenced by DM. At least directly.. Like Tom said, it's heavily influenced by System Shock 2. I'd say it's a simplified System Shock 2 with pretty graphics. Why ...

Other way to find out what these values do, would be to exhaustively go through the CBSWin code and see what they are used for there.. Don't know which would be easier, but the source should give a definite answer, while trying it out would merely suggest something..

Of course it's much faster when people forcibly breed cats, dogs, horses and whatever animals or plants.. In nature it's a much slower process and 170 years is really nothing in the history of the world.

I think that George's posts above are very good and worth a second or even third read..
