Re: Playing CSB again

Thanks everyone, it means alot to read your kind words. Some differences in big city vs rural living. I grew up in the DC area, took care of my mom the last 12 years of her life. Then I moved to the Baltimore area. I have been hit by cars several times, some of them on purpose because they don't lik...

Re: Playing CSB again

It took me awhile to figure out where I posted this. Which is the version of DM and CSB that was ported over from the original ST (or Amiga?) I build up the wizard levels using MON level lightening and light spells. Ninja levels by healing and wisdom potions. For the MON level Ninjas, kicking to dea...

Playing CSB again

It's been awhile, health problems, but I'm finally back. I started playing CSBwin again. The only previous game I could find was where I used only 2 characters. I got them up to PAL Master Fighter, Ninja and Priest and MON Master Wizard. I added the other 2 characters and have the original 2 up to M...

I've decided to go mostly with alternative medicine. There has been some improvement but time will tell. I've tried RTC, but I noticed that there are very few creatures compared to the original, and it makes to hard to practice your skills when there are no creatures to fight. CSBWin seems to have a...

I have a stupid question. I have a Compaq Armada M300 laptop that was given to me. It has Windows 98SE on it. It doesn't recognize graphics or sound in DOS so I will have to play the old games like DM, DM2, EOB,etc in Widnows which it really won't let me do. Will DOS Box work in Windows 98 or is it ...

I watched the movie because I seem to be running in circles and not being able to get any further. I noticed in the movie they use a skeleton key. I see where the skull is on the wall but I can't find a skeleton key anywhere. Plus there's a sign "Death Row" but no key hole. MON ZO won't op...

The square you land on generates worms, so if you are trapped spinning around in there for a while, you will keep generating them, and I guess they found their way in around you. Okay Beowuuf, finished DM2 and into CSB now. No questions yet, but I am getting tired of falling through floors alot. Mi...

I consider Stonekeep to be the "unofficial" sequel to DM2. The story is basically the same, even if the characters and setting are different. DM2 differs from DM and CSB in the same way, after all, and even if Wayne Holder's name isn't on the box, the similarities are too obvious to ignor...

I was thinking the same thing. Anyone know the reason why it never happened?

Good luck with DM2.5. I just visited your site, it looks like quite an undertaking.

I've played the end several times now and it hit me; there's not a clear victory. Dragoth runs back to Lord Chaos in fear and Chaos turns him into a worm, but Chaos threatens Theron's champions. While Dragoth is defeated Lord Chaos clearly isn't. I found the old coin that came with the original Atari...

I've never bothered with Guard or Attack Minions. I don't normally bother to sleep unless I'm out of mana, in which case (in DM2) I just do it where I am if I'm in the middle of somewhere, and keep an ear out for approaching Minions. But quite often if I need to sleep it's not normally too much of ...

I tried different ways of attacking Dragoth, but he always ends up running to Lord Chaos and being turned into a worm. I was hoping I could push him off the cloud and battle him below but it won't do it.

I haven't played Chaos Strikes Back since the old Atari days, so I'm playing that one again now.

You mean there's 2 endings to DMII? I went back and used the Push spell to push him off the cloud but it was the same ending as when I MON fireballed him. Unless it was my minions that killed him before I pushed him. I'll have to try it again. I only sent 8 minions, it's hard to believe that Dragoth...

Okay, I won the game. how I'm not quite sure. I used aura of speed to cross to the third cloud, almost overshot. I was hit with lightening bolts non-stop. Closing all the wall-mounted zo portals throughout the game helps reduce minions. I have a quote from Doug somewhere about the minions. I'll see if I can find it.
