Sophia: I'm glad someone else has a similar memory to me. I do have a vague memory of a similar book about space-ships, which *was* the one you mentioned, but I've googled the TTA and can't see one about space creatures, so maybe isn't the same. Zoooom: That could well be a version of this book. If ...

Old Book I remember

Ok, not remotely DM related, but... When I was at School in the UK, I read a book which was a sort of encyclopedia' of aliens, and I have been trying to remember it's title. It was a large-ish book (a4-ish) hardback with a black cover and silver writing. The picture on the front was of a large, gree...

In what has now become the wettest summer sunce recordsbegan, Gloucestershire, oxford and a number of other areas in the south of England have also been struck by flooding. And yet areas of the continent are apparently being hit by drought and a lack of water. I thnik it's safe to say global warming...

I live in a village ten miles from doncaster in South yorkshire, and work in Sheffield. I was sent home on Monday at 2:30pm and managed to get the last bus out of Sheffield. Tonari, just started playing this through. Have to say I like it. I like some of the new ideas (custom weapons for certain characters, different monsters), and did like the opening sequence. Will be very interested to see the next version. I liked especially the special abilities of some of the mons...

I remember that somewhere out there ZAngBand (sp?) was a very similar type of thing, in which it had options for ASCII, 2D and 3D versions (it also had (annoying) sampled sound effects(thankfully turn-offable)). IT was free, had a few neato twists and had a relatively shallow learning curv (I regula...

Just as an aside, I have played conflux II and III and find them both enjoyable, especially III. It does have a steep learning curve, which I personally struggle with (I prefer to dive headong and battle through, which isn't always the best way...) but this adds to the challenge. I am limited in my ...

interesting idea, like it so far. Just one point: Well, a hole with the titel "abort" is usually not for jumping in... The sign abort and the sign for the armoury appear transposed, ie the abort sign is outside the armory and vice versa. is this intentional? ifs, it makes it very easy to f...

In response to the original question, I remember we used to have DM on the Atari ST many moons ago, showing on the ancient colour telly (Allegedly portable, but made entirely out of valves and took three people to carry (despite having a useless handle on the top). but I digress...) [Fixed for V0.44] Game Cashes after attempted save.

I have been enjoying playing the DM II version for RTC and think it is great. I am in the early part of the game and have saved the game just before picking up the third piece of the Skullkeep clan piece. Unfortunately, each time I load from this point, I canplay just fine, but if I attempt to save ...

Silly/Amusing Character names?

HI,
Just wondering, what is the silliest or funniest names you have given your characters in Dungeon Master. I remember a party I created with Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and tiggy winkle . I was rather young at the time...

I have to say that, although the difficulty is set much higher in CSB, the characters are set accordingly higher and this does balance it out.
