Re: Party icons

just had the party icon crash bug in v.11 . No imported characters. Was on the first level (below hall of champions) Party was: Hairy guy | Lizard Tiggy | Wuuf Hairy and tiggy were turned sideways from getting attacked (two screamers), I turned to face the attackers, clicked on Hairy to turn him the...

Mana regen

I just went in to test something else on the PC DM (place valuable on the floor) and found out something else. Mana regeneration on characters with very low mana (6 or 7) and no magic skill (don't know how skill effects it) regen mana much faster in DM than in RTC, by probably about 5 times faster. ...

Re: RTC0.10 lev.01 "To close pit leave a valuable"

I was going to say that only droping it (not throwing) was the only solution in the original DM but I went in and played ... throwing it worked. So in the PC DM at least throwing as well as droping it works. I think there may be a problem with things hiting the wall and landing on a pad (this might ...

Re: Memory issue

You have *way* more faith in M$ ability to handle virtual memory and memory. My hard drive thrashes so much when I play memory intensive games I swear windoze stores the important stuff on the hard drive and the crap in ram. Either way the less that gets carriesd over to virtual HD memory the faster...

Re: caution

I understand what you are saying Zyx but I think if you are concerned about that feel of the dungeon then don't include any screens. I think the added benefit of including a plot, giving directives/objectives, and telling a story outweigh the cost of interupting time. I good dungeon will have few of...

Re: Difficulty levels

I will freely admit to not understanding what beowuuf just said... but here is my idea(s) for control over dungeon diffucly by the creator. The main one would be to allow difficulty specific pads. For example pads that only operated if the difficulty is 5 or up. It would be nice if it was a range, s...

Re: Plot screens and End-Game

I do not think I was clear on my idea of plot screens (that or no one else likes the idea...) I would like to be able to set it up so that when the party steps on a pad (say at the bottom of a set of stairs) a screen pops up that takes the whole screen or just the dungeon view area. This screen woul...

Re: Cast your influence, cast your might (v0.10)

I threw basically everything at it, and what finnaly got it to open was a water flask with one drink taken out of it. It could have just been my 20th item or something thrown though. The full water flask that I threw right before did not close the pit.

Re: Some object won't fly (v0.10)

This is more serious than stated above. I had trouble throwing over: daggers cheese throwing stars clubs In the 'the vault' room of the second floor I got to a point (after the second coin slot door) where I couldn't throw anything, whether there was something on the floor or not. Not only that, my ...

*not an official reply* but.... "- The Graphics Set of DM2 should be contained, including all monsters and items...if possible. the mummies of DM2 for example look great." Go for it, start taken screen grabs of DM2 and chopping em up. George has enough work as it is finalizing RTC and then...

Re: For new spells

That came out a wrong. I had just read in another thread that you (amber) havn't actually run RTC, and I think the rune system in place would allow for the control to make a dungeon harder, more interesting in the maner you wish. In fact I think it does it better, because no matter what you change t...

[Done for V0.45] Plot screens and End-Game

I wanted to give this idea its own thread. Full screen text scrolls that could advance the plot / give story. They should be pad trigerable etc. Also how is the end decided? Is it set as one location, like the start location? I suppose if we wanted multiple endings we could port to the end location ...

I disagree gambit. It is really obvious to those of us who have been following the development of RTC and been involved in the discussions that resulted in the spell book implementation. Hm this made me think, it would be nice if we could include text screens in our dungeons. Should be pad trigered, and escaped by a button or just enter or something...

Most (all?) of those issues have been discussed and debated. I would suggest browsing through the other forums and in particular maybe the archive section.

Re: Just a couple of quick questions (v.0.08)

came up with another question.

Can buttons (pads etc) have more than one effect? I mean like you click on it once and it opens one pit, click it again and it closes another, a third time togles the first pit again etc. ?

the wandering conversation.... Are walls a set height? In otherwords if I want to make an outdoor zone with trees that would be taller than the walls of a dungeon, could I? Re: Just a couple of quick questions (v.0.08)

According to my calculations at 256*256 (is DM is 32*32*14 which I think it is) you can fit 4 and half full DM master maps (all the levels) on one RTC level. If that is not big enough for anyone they have serious problems. The math (so you can tell me if I'm wrong): Number of squares in all of DM: 3...

Re: Just a couple of quick questions (v.0.08)

I would prefer seeing the txt files for the original dungeon before 1.0 release. At a point where (as I think it is now) only minor changes are going to be made, I can live with going through my creatures and adding a bit, or making minor changes to my dungeon layout. Where I see the problem being i...

You might want to run dxdiag (fromthe run command) and go through all the tests to make sure your direct x is working right. You might need to reinstall directx (newer version or the same..btw which version are you running?)
