True that, Beo.
34,000 post on a "bike site" seems rather depressing
Your 12,000 is still pretty damn daunting. Well done.

I do a de-activate on ALL sounds when the sound is updated/changed, so that shouldn't be a problem. As it is, I think I've found a way to get it to work(most of the time). I said "f*ck the looping sounds" and made my own relay loop that updates/changes the sound FX, and it looks like it's ...

Sorry, about not starting this as a new thread... I've been told before... BoNes slaps himself silly :? I've checked out the DM2 weather system, it was easy to follow(I'm used to my mega-chains of relays, the DM2 ones are small in comparison), and it's scripted. The weather in DM2 runs on a timed lo...

Weather sound effects?

Other ideas??? Sounds devious  Do you have any ideas on how to get several looping sounds(1 level only) to activate ONLY at the right times? I'm problem having with my weather sounds is: The weather randomly gets worse or better, when it changes it de-activates all the looping sounds & ...

Been there, done that :D

It's a pretty simple mistake to make... What were you changing the wallset for? Are you doing weather, or time of day?

I've been using it a little lately for weather effects... The one effect I just can't get to work is a raining sound FX loop :(

Poison darts that actually poison?

I've been trying to create a set of 3 poison darts (blue, green & red) that poison the party member that they hit... I have tried creating a very weak poison bolt (des-ven) on impact, but sometimes that bolt misses the target... I have a guaranteed method to poison a given party member, but I do...

This is almost a "dead heat"... I honestly didn't expect many people to say melee. But, that's obviously just me.

Anyways, I still need to see more votes. Can everyone who reads this vote (unless, you're like Lunever and don't favour either)?

Magic or Melee?

A new person asked me this question, and I've been curious as to what other people think...

I, myself, use Magic far more than Melee.

Sound Errors

When using a cloned "FLOORITEM_SOUND_LOCALISED", using an OBJECT_ACTIVATE action to trigger it (whether single or multiple times) the sound remains playing at its current volume, when the party moves away from the sound object. The bug is random in nature, it doesn't always happen. My sugg...

I don't see why not. That sounds like how my spellbook system works... The value counts up, checks against another counter to see if it's hit the max-value(if so starts a self-looping relay, that decreases the counter back to zero). Every time it counts up, it checks the value against the possible s...

What I meant was for example: You have an item that creates a fireball, and you wish to give the caster experience for firing it. In order to decrease the amount of experience gained for a higher level wizard, you have to do 15 relays to give the experience based on the level of the caster. Now thin...

Formuae for "strength" values

My suggestion, in this case, would be: could you allow formulae to be used in the "strength" values of conversions, and actions? Values would have to cap at 1, and round down(if floating point, at the final answer) of course. EG: Strength = 10-%MEMBER_WIZARD%, a level 4 wizard activating t...

Carried Items

@George : Should be as simple as changing an array size limit or variable, but could you increase the amount of items a monster can carry? Even add an extra variable that sets the number of items each given monster type can carry. EG: gigglers can carry 1, but DM2 thieves can carry 2, some other mo...

Monster repulsor

I would like to suggest, a flooritem that does the opposite to a monster_attractor. A monster_repulsor, so to speak. This mechanic would be useful for keeping certain monster type away from certain areas, or objects... EG: a water elemental would avoid drains. This would add a new tactic for dungeon...
