I was never graced with the source code. I would've loved to get my hands on it (I even asked George about it myself)... but RTC is George's baby and he always wanted to keep the source private.b1llygo4t wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2019 9:15 am I know bones or someone has an unreleased update and im sure someone has gotta have the source code.

@Ameena: I was Aurek the Paladin. And I remember that DnD game, it was awesome!
@Gambit: I looked at making dungeons for DSB, but I remember that at the time RTC was easier on the brain. I'll have to look into it if I ever get time.
Thanks for the warm welcome back.

Hello all! After many years of absence, I've been resurrected.

I know what you mean... I blast from the past is right. But I personally have memories of my good ol' Pentium 75. I remember playing Quake 1 on it :D but you had to reduce the "viewport size" (pressing the minus key shrinks the view, and plus makes it grow) to have it not lag too bad.

@zoom: I've found a few programming samples that take Intel/AMD family & model numbers and spit out a string (like "Intel Pentium Pro")... here's what I can translate from numbers to strings (given the samples I've got, and they're not exactly recent... there may be entries missing):

For sure, the ability to "pump" water (or the not-so-dark and yet sinister lava :P ) out of the dungeon is a must have... either that or just simple drains (that the dungeon designer must build and place in good spots) that allow the fluid to "run off".

Feel free to post more strings... the more results I have, the better. Thanx for the help man!
And, yeah, I don't understand why some company would still make a 1.0GHz CPU now days... it just seems pointless in the current market.

Just a side question: Has anyone here looked up how much "emissions" your average bovine produces on your average day? Now, think about how many cows there are in the world... it's not just the cars and industry that are heating things up

Ah yes, anyone who's played Minecraft will be able to tell you how easy it is to go into insta-panic mode when you're mining deep underground and suddenly break through into lava... I would fall into this category. And yeah, insta-panic mode is right. By the time you get over the "Argh! My butt's ...

As I said above, this is only for a "rather simple" (or so I first thought ) feature for my engine's log file. It's just so that it says something like (for your PC) "Intel Core-2 Duo E8500" instead of "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz" (which I ...

that doesn't mean dungeons can't get very, very wet -- ever heard of underground rivers? dig into the wrong spot and a part of your dungeons floods and watch the imps' head candles go out... You could even make this a sort of "trap" that you could use on an unaware enemy... kinda like an ...

DoS attacks are probably the most common form of attack. And, yeah, I've seen that they can become quite a pain-in-the-ass to stop... especially if the attacker has many computers at their disposal (the attacks coming from several different locations... much harder to stop).

@Paul: Another 2 strange examples... the "M" for the Celeron, and the "with Radeon(TM) HD Graphics" are both something I didn't expect. It seems that this is becoming quite interesting. But, these strange cases could all be sorted out in the string parser... just remove " D ", " M " and "with ...

Re: CPU brand-name strings
Is there an actual space between "Core(TM)" and the 2? In any example I've seen, there's been no space... so I'd like to verify it. I'm not trying to split hairs here, but I'm writing a string parsing algorithm and a space there could throw things out :( (I replace "Core(TM)2" with "Core-2", then I ...

Hello all. I've been working a bit lately on determining CPU details for my engine... and I've been looking for a list of all the possible brand-name strings that CPUs can give you, and I've been unable to find a list using Google.
So, I'm asking for the members here to post their brand-name ...
