Re: 12 years later...

It's pretty straight forward I would say. I mean, I have puzzles, but they're pretty much just adaptations of what I've seen in other FTL games. I've got a transporter room, a pit room, I've got a particularly annoying snake path area. You know? The classics. haha But no, nothing all complicated and ...

DM2 Merchants don't accept trade-ins?

Didn't you used to be able to sell axes back to the merchants in DM2? I swear that was how I used to make enough money to buy all the gear in the stores. I'd farm the axe throwers, stock up on tons of axes, then teleport to the starter town's store and sell my axes there. Now it doesn't appear I can ...

Re: 12 years later...

If you were in my position, Gambit, and you had a custom dungeon you were working on that was roughly as big as Dungeon Master down to about the level with the walking armor and materializers, would you start over in DSB, or would you tough it out in RTC and work around any issues that pop up?

Re: Users'/players' custom portraits

So I see this thread is nearly 10 years old, however I have a few portraits I made that I wouldn't mind sharing if that's ok to bump this thread to add more?

Also, it's a real shame some of these are being lost to time. Is there any way to preserve what still is available?

Re: 12 years later...

Yeah, that was 2 terrible years, but thankfully she came away cancer free and is now 10 years cancer free. It was really touch and go for a while though. Glad that's over.

My issue is just midi, yeah, and I looked into what it would take to convert those 40k midis into waves, and they end up being ...

Re: 12 years later...

Seems to me that the only engine that's still actively supported is Sophia's DSB. And I know Gambit is still here and has experience with both RTC and DSB so if he's got the time to answer he'd be my first choice to ask.

I have no idea how DSB works, so I guess I'll have to look into that.

I ...

12 years later...

I've been an on-again off-again member of this forum for about 15 years. Played the game as a kid back when it first came out, then when CSBWin and RTC were basically the only (or at least most common) ways to play the game on PC, I started using the forums a lot more because I was making a new ...

Re: Toggling wall object 'dent' with blue gem switch.

Well after much playing, I found a work around. I found that if I set the blue gem inset to visible, and then had a party operated floor trigger toggle it to invisible (at a much earlier part in my dungeon) then have a secondary wall switch that looks like a dent in the same location as the other, I ...

Re: Toggling wall object 'dent' with blue gem switch.

The coin slots are using a copper coin, they're disabling themselves and destroying the coin, and toggling the square alcove's visibility state, everything works fine.

The dent is using a blue gem, it is set to disable itself, destroy the gem, and it toggles 2 different targets, the movable wall ...

Toggling wall object 'dent' with blue gem switch.

OK, I've seen a number of threads here that touch on what I'm attempting to do, and I swear somewhere in either Dungeon Master or Chaos Strikes Back I've seen this 'puzzle' done before, but for the life of me I can't find it. I've spent the last few hours scouring those dungeons in RTC with no luck ...

Re: Legend of Grimrock

BTW was I the only Dungeon Master fan that looked at Grimrock's "blue haze" in awe for how great it looked and how true it was to the Dungeon Master original?

Re: Legend of Grimrock

Glad to hear that there's unlockables. I didn't realize you could unlock anything. Right now I'm playing with a rogue that's about to hit lvl 12 and the rest of my group has a combined 300 exp.

I have to say I was completely blown away at a puzzle I came across where shooters were timed fire of ...

Re: Legend of Grimrock

Hey all, I've been on and off this message board for years. Usually I come in for a week or so, then don't come back for another year. Probably same thing here, but I had to re-register to say that I'm in love with Legend of Grimrock. Finally I've gotten a game suitable to be called Dungeon Master 3 ...
