You really don't miss much. Here are the original map; RTC/dmcsb should be quite the same.

Re: Dungeon Master II for PC demo versions

Nice to know ! I just had one demo before (july 95). I like the previous colors of the guards.
For information graphics.dat are tagged as follow
- v4.3b for jan. 95
- v4.9a.doug for may 95
- v5.1 for july 95 (the one from oct. 95 is the same)
It seems the graphics.dat from jan. can't be (yet) opened ...

CSB Amiga has the magic map if it is what you refer to as a mini map.
Maybe there is a custom version of DM having the magic map.

Thanks for the update, that's neat! I can play my linux version both on debian and WSL with audio.
I get some "direct leak" from libasan when exiting though.

Re: How to locate misplaced items?

Just a short explanation about the messages. You get them for 2 reasons:
- CSBuild assumes first Atari ST savegame while you were playing on PC-DOS, then CSBuild complains and converts it to Atari format (little-endian).
- The illegal objects may come from duplicate objects, that should not exist ...

Hi WISPP. Good to ask.
First answer, you can find the latest package here SKWin Package . October 2024 version.
I have removed some old exe. Now the main exe is "skwin9821.exe". "SKULLV4.EXE" is the same but compiled for DOS (i.e. DOSBox / FreeDOS).
It is more flexible and have some command line ...

SKWIN: Dungeon Master II for Windows is a truthful port of Skullkeep.

Would I find this version to be closer to the original?

Yes it is, SKWin is not a clone, this is a port of Dungeon Master 2 original code. Though it is primarily based ...

You're correct about the Ra key, to open the gate out of the Sun Clan village.
I did not play DM2 RTC a lot, but spells don't seem different than retail DM2 for me. I did not tested them all though. I still don't get what you'd find different for spells/runes.

For RTC DM1, yes you have the spellbook rule and you need to activate symbols/runes from scrolls.
I don't see it the case for RTC DM2. Are you talking about DM1 or DM2 and RTC or not ?
