[Fixed for V0.46] Deleting monster that's used in a hint

I just experienced something like this. I was adding location hints, and after a minute of consideration I cancelled. At this point all of the fields were empty, I had only pressed 'select location' to decide on the, umm, center point of the hint. Crashed. And after restarting RTC ED and loading my ...

Yes it is, although incompatability is very minor; All you need to do to fix the dungeon file is to copy the description-part (where the graphics are defined) and add AUTO_EQUIP=(FALSE) (or TRUE) to the Main-segment from a dungeon definition file that works. Just look at the DM or CSB-definition fil...

I'll second this one. Actually ie. the CSB-dungeon uses decorate items on movable walls, so it wouldn't really be an invalid situation. Don't remember if it's used in DM, but I'd imagine that a switch on a movable wall wouldn't be unheard of.

CSB: lock near the supplies for the quick

I decided to play through CSB once again, but encountered a bug very early on. It seems that the lock to the SftQ-area (next to the stairs that lead to the junction teleporter) doesn't function anymore. I checked it with the editor, and it seems that particular lock has "constant weight"-f...

Releasing objects

Sorry if this has been asked before (I couldn't spot similar questions, but who knows what's hidden under topics with cryptic subjects...) I'm using RTC Editor for a change (finally it seems stable enough to be used, and the Java editor seems to create bugged txt-files), but I don't know how to make...

Are you saying that even if you set the alcove to be triggered by an OpBy, it doesn't work? Or are you totally unable to set it to an OpBy?

Sounds odd, because I can do both. I have no time to test it to be 101% sure, but I have created alcoves that are triggered by a Mouse.

ZO-spells only work on doors that have buttons on the doorframe. I think there is no way of configuring doors to be activated by the spell (or a spell).

Isn't the second suggestion also possible? You just need to put the desired equipment to the same spot with the mirror that holds the champion? I haven't done this in RTC editor, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work.

It will compile and run just fine after compiling. The crash occurs when you remove the COMPILE setting and load your dungeon from the list of dungeons.

GAME v0.31: Crash, when loading a dungeon with cloned object

This one is strange. DM (Original)-dungeon crashes now instead of loading. My guess was that it's got something to do with cloned objects as DM Orig's Rust Monster is actually a clone. So, I modified the Zoo-dungeon a little, and cloned a monster. Then I compiled the dungeon and tested it. It works ...

Oh yes, that puzzle. "I hate cowards". ("Cowards will be hunted down and killed" is several levels later with the Oitus ;) ) I have always solved this puzzle by waiting at the switching wall when I first have lured a skeleton to chase me. Never even thought of freezing them.

What puzzle is this?! I've never found any use for freezing time except for executing monsters with doors.

The bug is also present if try to deactivate the door without constant weight. I hadn't even tried toggling with constant weight, but yes, that seems to be buggy as well.

Oops, of course I forgot to give the link. Now it's there, check the first post.

I think I and others would have reported this a couple of years ago if it was buggy back then. I played through v0.28 a month ago and didn't notice anything bugful, so it's a fairly new bug.

My problem is with the Dungeon Master -module. It has worked OK in the past, but now solving the Riddle Room requires taking the item back before hearing the clicks. My dungeon is only made to demonstrate it quicker than playing DM all the way down to the Riddle Room to witness the bug.

Remember the riddle room. Is it or is it not supposed to work like this: 1. You put the required object in the alcove. Nothing happens. 2. You take the required object from the alcove. You hear clicking. 3. You need to do steps 1 and 2 for every alcove if you want the door open and iron key revealed...

GAME v0.30: Bug with activating alcoves

If I have an alcove, into which you are supposed to put an object to activate something, you need to put the object into the alcove, AND take it off for the activation to happen. Like, in the Riddle Room in DM you now need to place the correct object and then take it off to hear the clicking sound. ...

Trouble with lighting?

I just noticed, that if you first cast (powerful) enough lighting spells, then the level would get brighter than the normal maximum lighting (like that of the hall of champions in DM or prison in CSB) eventually blinding the player (the view is completely white).

Is this intentional or is it a bug?

GAME: Graphical glitch with fireballs hitting party?

I have situation, where I can make a stream of fireballs hitting me in front of a door. So, when I step onto the path of the balls and they explode, then an extra pair of explosion graphics near the bottom of the dungeon-view can be seen.

EDITOR: Unwanted ordering of the hints

I was toying with Location Hints, and found out that the editor organizes the clues of a specific hint in alphabetical order! For example, if I want to provide hints in this order: 1. "Special caution is advised!" 2. "I sense an ambush nearby." 3. "A horde of improved Zytaze...

I recommend RTC (not v0.29, it's buggy; Bugfix-release is supposed to be released tomorrow, I hear), since it contains both DM and CSB and, to me, runs better than CSBwin and is faithful enough to the original. Besides, it's as easy to install as CSBwin.

I also received notification of the new version. It's really weird that whenever I have completed DM with a current version, the next version is sure to be released very soon after. Guess I'll have to play more often :P However with the bugs of 0.29 I wouldn't recommend any serious adventures before...
