I perfectly understand and respect that.
It was meant to be a summary of the different aspects of the situation. I did not mean to criticize or question what you did.

Re: Users'/players' custom portraits
What's simple to you can look complex to others. Please don't preface your help with phrases like that: it can make people feel stupid if they don't find it 'simple'.

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original
I've played the game like seven or eight times during the last two years (always losing interest when entering the strange dimension because I never wanted the game to end :D). There should be lots of savegames on my PC and laptop, if you think you might need them I'll send them to you. Can't really ...

the power pink does get to you eventually. i see green after a while and have to stop looking at it, or i remove it and put it back when done.

That's what I was trying to say. :D Forming sentences in a language other than your native language sometimes is like attempting to create realistic pictures with fuse beads while at the same time being almost totally colorblind.

Re: Users'/players' custom portraits
I've had that happen to images too, I think that's because the art programs by default automatically "help" you by doing anti-aliasing, which, when you need exact colours, such as the powder pink mask used in RTC, that can be very annoying when you get a pink halo around your painstakingly painted ...

there are a few threads sscattered about with people's custom work, but I don't think we've ever dedicated one specific thread of the forum to it.

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original
This may be considered an almost heretical statement, but I admit I like Dungeon Master 2 as much as Dungeon Master 1, if not more. I still think that due to the designers' and producers' decision to change some of the (even basic) elements and to keep only the main concept of the game, these two ...

I think the originals would fit even in the redone background, but they should need some color enhancement for best effect.

Eheh. Thanks for the hint regarding the family heirlooms. It took me a while to figure out that they were in fact the keys to open the door to the next level and had to be put in the alcove.

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original
We did with a modified DM2 engine what Paul Stevens did with CSBWin: fortunately it is not too difficult to allow 3 times more mechanism items within a dungeon file. (I can go into details if you want). That permits some expansions over the original dungeon.
I do. But there is still work to do ...

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original
I believe the biggest problem of DM2 was the fact they didn't expand enough the dungeon file format so that they quickly get out of room for building more interesting mechanims, traps and/or maps within the game. My feeling is rather that they left many ideas they had and the final DM2 is cut off ...

As far as I know it's a magic marker which can be created using the ya ew spell. Might serve as a substitute for the footprints (= leaving a trail of magic 'breadcrumbs') or any item that you need to put on pressure plates etc. So unless there's a very special hidden use to it, it's just some sort ...

Re: What do you like/dislike about DM2 compared to original
I think whether you prefer playing DM1 or DM2 is a matter of nostalgia and what you came to expect from a certain game, thus what you'd expect from a possible sequel.

Brilliant, simply amazing! I'm in the area where those two Ra Keys are needed and so far I've enjoyed every minute spent playing this mod.
