I tried but...

as I've been trying a number of emulators this past week, it all swims in my head.
I downloaded this version of WinUAE

UAE 0.8.8 Win32/DirectX, Release 7

but from reading the docs, it seems that I should rather use more stable ver. 0.7.x What version are you using? What ROM? Can I use one of the ...

You have my blessing

However, even if I did not yet try to do anything with DMute, from the little I looked at it and reading some on this board I realize the extent and the complexity of the undertaking.

That's why I want to bring up this: from my earlier posts you know the situation I have encountered with CSB on ...

Emulation is pits, period!

Never, ever did my forays into emulation of whatever platform lead to something playable or usable.

Few examples: tried Basilisk II to emulate a Mac to run Wizardry VII, it sorta ran, but with corrupted graphics and like it was dunked in molasses.
tried Winston, Pacifist, to emulate Atari ST to ...

Re Best platform for CSB

Sorry, been away.

Yes, I checked the Numlock before and right now also, it doesn't seem to have any effect toggled either way, that is, nothing changes, there is no response to any keys. I also looked into .ini file but there is no mention of anything related to keyboard, I changed the joystick ...

Well, read more carefully, maybe...

...I did not explain myself clearly enough.

So, you have one physical hard drive on which you install windows95 or 98 or 3.1.
Then you have another (second) drive on which you install Microsoft DOS say v 6.22

You do it by first connecting one drive as master (RTM) and installing say Win98.

Than ...

Keyboard layout prob

I tried to play CSB in Atari ST emulator Pacifist and I managed to make it go, only one thing is holding me back-the blasted keyboard.

I can move via arrows (inverted T) but turning is keyed only to 'insert' and 'Home' keys which are about an inch and a half above the arrows.

Can't play like that ...

LOL

Its getting better and better.

The way I go around these things is I have Win98 on one drive, DOS or DOS/Win95 on another and switch between them by manipulating slave/master drive settings. I find it less involving than some dual booting headaches. Have my comp in front of me on the table open on ...

DM II - recount of good times

Being new to the board, I got a sense that DM II doesn't cut it much with regulars here. They seem to prefer the unmultimedialized original and classic DM.

Somehow I usually buy first the sequels and only later on get to play the original games. Came to computing a bit late. My first game was ...
