How great you participated in "You Are the Hero" book ! I hope there will be a french translation soon.
I have the same feel about gamebooks : stories and illustrations are what you keep in mind afterall. Sometimes I read some old FF or GD book in my sofa but never play the rules.

The sapphire is in Sapphire path and armoury is in Ruby path, so there's no relation at all.
In the armoury, there's no trigger that close that wall after you've opened it (if i remember well).
To find Sapphire, you must pass the munchers room, or... more precisely, find a way to pass them because ...

it's been written at XP era... but worked on some Vista and 7 boxes... depends on your graphics card

I've just checked the map into RTC editor : there's is no "End of Game" pad.
