Monster Graphics Wanted

Post by Crash. »

Greetings,

I'm trying to assemble a complete set of upgraded replacement monster graphics for DM/CSB.

I've reviewed (at least) the following sets:

Alan Berfield's DMJ
Germanny's NewGFX v1 for DMJ
Kelly's Addon-Pack v0.1 for DMJ
Kelly's Addon-Pack v0.2 for DMJ

So far, I have found or created replacements for everything but the following:

DEMON (tentacle arms)
OITU
OITU GREATER
SLIME SWAMP
TROLIN
WASP GIANT

A couple of these could use improvement:
SCORPION
WATER ELEMENTAL

Does anyone have any of these available, or know where I can find them?

Thanks!

hi Crash!
Have you seen NES creatures? Some are cool, and you can use them independently to the old ones:

Do you mean "has anyone created better quality versions"? If so, to my knowledge, no-one has.

Those of us with artistic skills are more interested in creating new stuff than revisiting the old games. Perhaps it's time for you to break out the digital pencils... ;-)

Crash already stated he wasn't an artist, he's just doing the leg work of assembling better graphics int othe core game.

I think the snes ones would be a step up from the DM ones, but won't mesh with superior graphics

Oh, OK, well there aren't any higher-res versions of those monsters as far as I know. Sorry!

Okay, just making sure that there isn't something better out there. I was a little surprised of no completed set.

I can understand wanting to create new content, but I hope a few of the monsters from DM make an appearance in your games ;)

Anyway, I've done my best to update the remaining monsters. Here's a sample (blown up 200% for web viewing).

I'm going to create a "replace" block to support addition of the updated/DMJ monster set into RTC dungeons.
