CSB Strategy Guide

Post by Unlucky_Mule »

Way back when I bought CSB for Amiga, in the box was advertisement for a strategy guide. I don't remember the exact title of the book. I never ordered it, but I always wish I did!

Does anyone else know what book I am talking about? Did anyone ever get ahold of it? Is there an online posting anywhere?

DME has Pat Mullen's "Maps, Lists and Answers for Chaos Strikes Back". I just looked through the entire thing. This looks completely different, based on the sample pages from the advertisment. The one I am talking about appears offical, from FTL.

Gambit is really the one to say, since he's tried to track down all of these and the games...

Now you mention it, I am Sure I have a copy somewhere, I think I ordered it at the time. There's also something I picked up in a second hand shop. I'll have a look.

unlucky mule:
the guide which you are searching for would be "chaos strikes back ~the adventurer's handbook" (subtitled striking back at chaos: the essential guide to chaos strikes back). how's that for a mouthful.

I actually authored that guide back in 1990 for FTL games / software heaven. :D

I still have a few copies left (still shrinkwrapped too!) but would be hardpressed to relinquish any unless the price was right.

here's a scan of the front and back of the guide:

Wow impressive that you've still got it in shrinkwrap and everything.

I've still got my copy of Pat Mullens guide. Man the amount of graylead that's been drawn on and rubbed off of that thing!
