As you may know, before creating FTL Games Wayne Holder worked on spell checking software in his company named Oasis Systems.
In 1984, when the american TV show 'Computer Chronicles' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_Chronicles) made an episode about Word Processing software, guess who they invited to talk?
You can watch the show here: http://www.archive.org/details/WordProc1984
Wayne talks between 13:08 and 17:08.

Re: Wayne Holder in Computer Chronicles
wild.. to think of all the things they have presented as a part of word processing, only a fraction of those options still exist today.. yet so many other things now exist. Note that Wayne once again focused just on those things people actually could use and other software was missing

(I'm glad he didn't try to work on a spell checking software for Czech language because if he did, there would be no DM or CSB or anything and he would still be working on the spell checking software by 2011. )
Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!
