future movies, the odd things they'll do.

Post by cowsmanaut »

We have a place to post about films you should see, but that didn't really seem the right place for this, so I'm making a new thread, as I know undoubtedly there will be a long list of movies off into the future that will make us say.. "they are making a movie about that???" So, let us start to list them here!

We can even list those that might turn out ok, but are still all the same, surprising to hear about.

Another terminator movie.. terminator: salvation... and no.. arnie will not "be back.." :P

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0438488/

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li .. there are no shortage of street fighter movies, the anime ones doing far better than that horrible live action one staring Van damme

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0891592/

I suppose this is more of a WILL it be made statement.. since it now looks like it might be canceled.. Halo

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0464037/

this will come as no surpise now because most of us have heard about it.. but it was rather surprising that they did take it on, and who they got to direct.. I think the film will certainly do well... the only question.. will Jackson go overboard like he did with king kong.. or will Del Toro reel him back a bit?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903624/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1170358/

Shakespeare strikes again.. King lear.. yep... With Anthony Hopkins as Lear himself..

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1235140/

Guess who else he's playing as.. Alfred Hitchcock.. The movie Psycho has already been remade.. so why not do a movie about the movie.. sure.. uh... what???

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0975645/

You've seen the comic.. for certain if you're french you should know it... TinTin and his little white dog.. and who will play Captain Haddock? Andy Serkis of course.. :P

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0983193/

About time.. Sherlock Holmes!! With Robert Downy Jr as Sherlock himself

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0988045/

This is a very hush title.. and I've only heard whispers about it and that some of the production may be happening here in Vancouver at some local studio.. A prequel to the Dark Crystal.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460907/

the ever embarrassing canadian actor, who was once great, but now seems to take on any ill advised idea has decided to do yet one more.. "Shrek Goes Fourth" yes.. after the "success" of the third movie (insert crickets here) they figured they could throw away a few million more.. why not.. :P

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0892791/

well, that's enough from me for now.. feel free to post your own!

Now going to make a new thread for movies that SHOULD be made.. but aren't......... yet.. :)

Regarding "Power of the Dark Crystal", I've known about that one for ages but had thought it was a sequel rather than a prequel - a friend and I are wondering how that's gonna work considering some of the things we've heard about the plot. But I have a major thing these days about avoiding spoilers, so I haven't dug too deeply.
Wasn't there gonna also be another Shrek movie called "The Adventures of Puss and Donkey" as well? Or was that one just a rumour...I can't remember.

Q. Tarantino is going to remake an old, 1965 film "FASTER PUSSYCATS! KILL! KILL!" in 2010. The original movie was about... guess what... yes!- sexy PUSSYCATS in FASTER cars, wchich KILL people!
An ideal script for Tarantino! ;)

Tarantino has lost the plot. Jackie Brown was excellent, a proper character driven movie, but because it wasn't as commercially successful as the overrated Pulp Fiction, he gives us Deathproof -- a Tarantino fanboy excuse for a movie. Yes, I know he says it's an 'homage' to exploitation films, but it isn't really. He's just indulging his own sick fantasises -- no, not the exploitation, but the fact that he thinks everyone wants to be him. Twat.

I'm vaguely interested in Terminator 4 as I like Christian Bale and am a fan of the first two films. But the other ones Cows listed, except TinTin, don't really interest me at all.

most of the films I mentioned I'm not interested in either.. but it was a surprise to see them :P

The Dark crystal one I heard about as a rumor in 2001 when they had a new company preportedly run as a link to Jim Henson company out here called "the shop" and any attempt to find info on the company itself, or the dark crystal project since then has been limited at best.

I agree that tarantino believes his own hype.. and really have less interest in his upcoming films than I do in sniffing the dog droppings along the side of the street.. :P

I'd like to see if they can do a decent Sherlock, and I do wonder if King lear will be good, it's a star studded cast, and a decent play.. so who knows.. might be worth while.
