Thanx.Bit wrote:Hmmm - perhaps it could help if we would try to port original CSBwin/CSbuild to Allegro - that's available for Linux too. It's just the setup for the makefile then, which shouldn't be that complicated. Or - maybe it's worth to take a look in that Linux-source if it would be complicated to replace the used library by Allegro.
Can't be that much calls.
I will lock at Allegro ... have you an link for me?

For known stable versions, like the dm1 and the csb version - is there a way to have the engine installed just once and select from some menu which dungeon you want to start, like in RTC? Or is is an absolute requirement to have the engine installed anew for every new dungeon you want to add (assuming you want to keeo the old ones too and don't want to change pathes and configuration before each start)?

Re: *** DOWNLOAD LATEST CSBWIN & CSBUILD HERE ***
I believe there is a way to create a .bat file that names the starting directory location.
I think if you look to the latest conflux package, Zyx might have used both of those (since he has the competition and normal dungeons, and a variety of screen sizes)

I am enjoying tochaos 3.3 . The last modified date is 3/20/06 . I would like to see my saved game in an editor. is that CSBuild? If so, can you help me load and run the editor. What version? where is the download? Etc? Nice pace so far. I am having trouble finding water. I found the

http://www.dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/CSBuild320.7z seems the latest, though the one in the basic package should work ok.
You should be able to double click on the ditor and use it. It should run anywhere, so run it from the game directory to easily find your saves. One of the pulldown menues is a search function.

IS CSB build meant to have no sound because the DM1 version has sound?
Re: *** DOWNLOAD LATEST CSBWIN & CSBUILD HERE ***
I noticed that the splash screen has no "woosh" sound, but the opening of the dungeon doors has sound, and after you choose your first party member there's a sound when you walk into the wall. Did you check the "Attempt Using DirectX" option?master wrote:IS CSB build meant to have no sound because the DM1 version has sound?
I was wondering, is there a new version now?
The link in the opening post has a link to Dungeon Master labelled CSBWin111_PC_DM.zip, however the link in the Encyclopaedia is to a file labelled Clone-CSBwin-Windows-DungeonMaster-12_100.zip
However both versions when loaded say V2.0 on the start screen.

That is the version of Dungeon Master, not the version of CSBwin.both versions when loaded say V2.0

Oh! How silly of me. That makes much more sense.

Hi.I'm trying to play this for the first time in many years, but the Zip file (Dungeon Master for Windows x86-32 2017-11-17) will not extract on my PC. Is this an issue with Windows 11? Does anyone know if there is a way to get it to work? I have also looked at the versions available on the dianneandpaul.net site but there doesn't seem to be anything more up-to-date.

Re: *** DOWNLOAD LATEST CSBWIN & CSBUILD HERE ***
A moment ago I downloaded:
http://dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin/Games/D ... 171117.zip
and it unzipped perfectly using 7-Zip.
I put the files into a folder and played it.
I also extracted the game with two different "Windoze Explorers"
What program did you use to attempt the extraction?
What problem was reported?
