for those who not know it yet, there is a hidden ending in dungeon master.
when you got the firestaff, if you come back to the entrance of the dungeon, the door will open and you'll get a lesson from your master about good and evil...

erm, HOW do you come back to the beginning? as far as i know, a wall gets closed behind you as soon as you activate the firestaff...

You can avoid the alarm of the tomb of the powergem if you THROW out the gem-powered firestaff right out of the door after obtaining it, rather than WALK out the door with the staff.

You get the alternate end of the game only, when you enter the tile before the entrance with the UNACTIVATED firestaff (without the Powergem). You can also see Lord Librasulus with a OH EW RA spell through the closed door.
If you already have activated the firestaff, create a second unactivated firestaff via DMute.
