Speedbow

Post by A fascinated guest »

Hi everybody.

I wonder what the speedbow is good for.
Putting it in the hand of any of my champs doesn't help using it.
I even can't activate it by clicking onto its symbol, because it does't posses any. In my eyes it just behaves like a ya ew shell.
Does anybody have a clue about that?

thanks a lot for this tremendous site

Don't you just use it the same as any other bow? Equip in hand and have an arrow in other hand and some in the quiver? I never use bows so...

I thoght so too.
But at least in my game, that failed.
The bow and the crossbow worked in that way - putting it into the hand of one of the champs and giving him an arrow into the other one.
Then one has to click on the bowsymbol and activate 'shoot'.
But in the case of the speedbow even no symbol to click appeared...

Nevertheless thank you for your reply

I will check DM2 in a sec to confirm this.
Meanwhile try Slayer Arrows instead of regular ones.

Problem solved!

A couple of years ago i bought dm2. In this german version the problem with the speedbow (schnellbogen) appeared.
After having lost my original CD, i downloaded the game from the www.
In this english version i actually never tried the speedbow before because of my experiences in the past.
But the reply by suule motivated me to simply try it!
And guess what: It worked like every other bow, even with normal arrows.
Maybe it was an error in my old version of the game or elsewhat.
So excuse me for messing up the forum with this rediculous problem and thank you for your help.

...unless you want to use it without punching dragons and tables for hours, that's cool, yeah ;)

Actually... you need to learn the hidden bow skill rather than the HtH hidden skill. :P

You have to realize you need xp in the first place... is what i find cool.
being able to use the speedbow is the ranged equivalent to "secret" weapon options like beserk.
Never knew you could make it weapon dependant.. but If I think about it:
An axe has an initial chop command and the sword doesn´t....

you really only have to reach a certain level,
be it with the shoot or the ninja general skill.

(more often the general skills are higher than their corresponding hidden skills: shoot punch stab,
all different hidden skills but all add xp to the main ninja skill.
So your character can be a bad archer but a good ninja in general and therefore
still use the speed bow..so punching is no bad idea)
