Need Help importing characters

Post by Paul Stevens »

I received the following.....could someone
answer him in french?
===========================

laurent-a-08 - at - wanadoo - dot - fr

Hello,
I have downloaded a free "Dungeon Master and Chaos strikes back" for linux and windows (files joined). Finishing the Dungeon Master I tried to keep my team to play Chaos strikes back, as it was possible in the original version I played in the eighties on Atari ST, using the utility disk. And it seems to be impossible in my free download, the game indicating a wrong code. Using the utility icon, i can't to begin a new adventure with the Dungeon master team, the soft doesn't find the team.
So I ask you if there is any solution to load my Dungeon master team to play in Chaos.
Thank you for your answer.
I'm french, so please use easy words, instead I will not understand. Thank you.
Sincerely yours.

Rename your DM save file as "CSBGAME.DAT".
Put it in your CSB directory. Run the UTILITY
and load CSBGAME.DAT and "MAKE NEW ADVENTURE"
and save as CSBGAME2.DAT.

Then start CSB game and RESUME from
CSBGAME2.DAT.

I think that works.

Almost - I just tried the same with my DM-PC savegame but failed. Do I need some extra step to convert it?

Yes, you will need to open up the DM-PC saved game under CSBuild first, and let it work its magic and covert the file.

Rename the file to csbsave.dat and put it in the folder of your csbwin game, and it should allow you to import!

Thanks, that worked! :D

But that success got me thinking...

Say... is it also possible to transfer my PC Characters onto the Amiga version of CSB? I tried copying my save game to a blank ADF, but it seems the Amiga version requires a special formatting

Oha... I was hoping for a moment to be able to play CSB on a 3.X engine and with stereo SFX again.
