Powered hub? It'll prob look like a box with USB ports coming out of it as well as a connection for the power and will plug into an existing USB port.

I think....

Bought a nice new shiny powered USB hub today! Does it work? Does it $%£&! The modem STILL loses power.

I have decided that I am going to take the computer to the end of the garden, paint a target on it and get my crossbow from the loft. Then blow it up.

Could do, but for the outlay I might as well spend another ton and get a new tower! I think I might dismantle the modem and solder an external 5v power supply to it.

The wireless energy may interfere with the USB and cause a power overload of unimaginable proportions causing the whole world to kerplode.

Maybe....

(Bit crap about the powered hub tho Paul - Maybe you should start a thread documenting all your computer problems! On second thoughts, maybe not - it'll prob get bigger than the Christmas story thread, hehe!)

Lol! Yeah if I went wireless, I imagine an errant signal would cause the RAF to try and land planes on my house.

Did you hear about that lady in Scotland and her faulty freeview box? It transmitted a freak signal on the exact wavelength that the coastguard use for distress signals, and it was detected by a ship 600 MILES out to sea! The coastguard had to investigate, and indeed traced it back to this poor women's flat!

Haha, makes you think about all the wonderous radiation that our technology around us churns out! 600 miles tho, man, that's one badass freeview box!

Sometimes radiowaves can travel for huge distances given certain conditions: some frequencies can bounce of the stratosphere and circle the planet! I once owned a freaky Kenwood amplifier, that when just turned off, would momentarily output some german radio station from the speakers for a few seconds. Not too bad you might think, but this wasn't a radio, and it was turned off...

All is explained!

I generally find that cutting them in half and moving to various parts of the microwave results in an even cook, and avoids that disgusting 'chunk of raw potato' sensation that often occurs. But for the ultimate baked potato, microwave THEN oven cook, as spices and oils can be added! A BBQ can work well, but not in the middle of winter.

+I go with the simple 'nuke for aaaaaaaages, turning over each five minutes, until you have a half sized squished mess : )

Soft and very nice and hot enough to melt butter, cheese, or forks

No, just regular flu that is sweeping the country here and knocking people out. I think I'm recovering, but taking a last day off work today just to make sure I don't end up back in bed with fever like the last two times I thought I was fine!

I'm afraid I'm woefully lacking in contact with 'birds' right now

Speaking of which - Gambit, how'd it go? *bounce*?
