All the best to you Gambit! Hey, if she was funny, she must have liked you - because if she didn't, she wouldn't have been funny since she wouldn't have felt comfortable in your presence! So be optimistic, it sounds good!

Thanks all! I tend to downplay my own worth, but about time I stopped. Yeah, I'm pretty sure she liked me -- after all, she was the one who asked me out after we'd been emailing a bit, and she kissed me goodnight first! And said some nice stuff about me too. We talked straight for about 6 hours in the pub, totally comfortable, not weird or awlkward or any of the shit you sometimes get on dates with unsuitable people.
She said I was intriguing!
I think that's fairly positive!
Sorry about your mangled mushrooms, Beo!

It's a learning experience - my fault, should have gone to sainsburies for the little button mushrooms instead....mmmm

Intelligent, cute and funny? I usually get one or two, not all three!
Just don't introduce her to DM (or any of us), or you'll never see her again... Intriguing is a good one. It usually means insane.
Sent home huh Beo? Green tea I tell ye. You'll feel right as rain after an infusion.

Old rank - more like 'still at home' - and flu's pretty much done, taking a receovery day then back to work tomorrow

I found it was a weird two stage flu. Like a hurricane. You get the calm at the eye, then it strikes again. Followed by a nasty chest infection.

sounds right - i got it three times, because i think at even the start of the eye I started going aqround and gave me stage one again

My last boyfriend hated the entire 3d RPG/dungeon crawler/whatever-you-wanna-call-it genre, including DM.
Is it any surprise it didn't last?

I don't think I dare introduce anybody to DM... The 6 swords displayed on my bedroom wall put most people off anyway.

I very much doubt it would ever be her kind of thing!
Hmm.... having doubts now!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It's good to have different interests, keeps things heathy. Especially if you then have an area to complain and make snide comments to later they will never see! : )

Adamo should think about upgrading to the latest 2004 model:

Congrats Gambit.. nice to hear you're date went well. Sounds like a promising start.. natural conversation is always a good sign
as for the computer of 2004.. I love stuff like that.. they so totally under estimated the future back then.. but now I wonder the now. Many people predict teleportation and technology implants.. is that far fetched?

Holographic tv, mobile phone brain implants, cold fusion, DSAs that we can understand, its all coming...

Sadly that image is a fake. It won a photoshop editing competition a few years ago and someone has obviously added the text and tried to pass it off as an original image!
FYI - the source image is here:

I thought it was quite obviously fake when I saw it -- perspectives are all off for a start.

I was wondering about how some parts were crisp and others not so much.. and lighting seemed washed out in spots.. I just thought it had be restored.. then I started to wonder about the big wheel.. how it related.. seemed a bit off to me..
now I know why

Did you know that Linflas wears a pair of frilly pink knickers under his huke? So says Gando.

I wonder how Gando knows... Cool new avatar Paul! Took me a moment to figure out what exactly it is, though.

Just a mistake. The Atari 2600 would have never been able to run a game like DM:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_2600
On this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Ma ... er_game%29
it is mentioned that DM was released in 6 languages, including Chinese and Korean (we already know about English, French, German and Japanese).
And this page was reviewed by Doug Bell... Is this another mistake?
There is a photo of some FTL members (Wayne, Nancy and Bruce) here:

That photo was submited by Mike Newton -- he sent it to me along with a few others when I interviewed him a few years ago.
Christophe, we should talk about getting you all my materials. I'll email you soon...

Heh, I just looked at DMweb and noticed you've had several updates recently that you didn't mention here. Having seen that list of champions names from Andy, he simply gave you the stuff he gave me! It's about time I gave it all over I think!

Yes I have been active in the past weeks to update the site more often and to sort out and publish most things that had been waiting on my hard drive for a long time. Next update very soon

If you want to know when updates occur, there is an RSS news feed icon on all pages (currently in the footer, it will move to the header soon with the next update).
For the list of champion, I did not get it from Andy directly: you posted it on this board here:
http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=22560
I just noted this somewhere back then, and it only took me a little more than 2 years to publish this info on my site
I'll wait for your message about the materials. I'm both happy to see it at last and sad that you gave up with your web site. It was very promising with rich and unique content and very neat presentation (I've no graphics skills like you).
Well, whatever makes you happier is the best and more important thing at this time.

I asked the question to Doug Bell about Chinese and Korean versions on wikipedia: he confirmed that they existed!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Dunge ... er_game%29
I've been in this DM online community for nearly 7 years, and this is the first time I hear about these versions! Does anyone have any more information about them?
