Try emailing Keith Balcombe (K_Balcombe at onetel dot com) about the interesting (read - indoor) stuff you can do over winter in Brighton as well as MTB / Cyclo-cross stuff they do outside.
As part of a club, there's lots of interesting people to meet and keep the interest / motivation up.
Do it now, or you won't do it at all!

Me? sound foreign? Sorry, you can ask Ameena about my "posh" accent.
I'll try to use that one next time
I tried the whole just use a cell thing.. because it was what I used the most. However, I found the landline was worth while in the end simply because of the fact that I seem to live in a dead zone.. it's like I walk a block and get perfect reception.. but at my house it's hit or miss...

GAmbit: as sports, every other day I run through the nearby hills and woods(with 2 sprints in between).(mainly shortly before dusk and in all weather conditions except for tornados)
After this 50 mins I stretch legs and body and do some workout in between (30 press ups, nearly 10 sit ups, some kicks, forward roll, trying handstands)
This still needs some improvement, especially the situps and I have been known to skip some "runs" on occasion.
Ultimately, I would love to start a martial art again(e.g. tae kwon do), because it exercises both the body and has a positive effect on the mind (that is the "do" part in taekwondo)
I do not know how many of you think martial arts turns you into a senseless fighting machine or that you have to be super fit in order to do it..old people can start it!
As GG said, there are also people to meet in a club and you get a certain regularity as well as motivation doing sports.
When I run it is lonesome and not what the majority does, but for me it is ok - I even want to run alone sometimes-, but a club would be a welcome addition or make for a nice change.
It all comes down to this: doing sports regularly and having fun doing it; the other thing would be weaveing it into your daily life(cycling every morning to the station, for instance).
I know you can probably not run through the woods of Brighton, but there are many cools sport activities that do not cost that much money.(But I cannot think of one atm !)
Sport helps me greatly. I love it and I started doing the running thing when I quit to smoke. Otherwise I wouldn't have made it. It all involved changeing my diet as well, but that is another story!!

Omg Cows...would you believe I'd forgotten about that lol. Whee so I have heard the voice of one of the people on the DM forum :O. It sounded so silly in that posh voice though lol. Mind you, the Canadian was also silly

Someone heard of Skype or Teamspeak?
We could use sth. like that to talk to each other for free.
You would need a headset (or speakers and a microphone) and ,
of course the programme installed and some spare time at the right time...
England and Germany , for instance are not that much different
regarding their timezone(1hour) but Canada is another pair of
shoes I think..
dunno would be sth. we, or some of us could try out if you haven't
already!!. Maybe a first step towards meeting sometime in the future???

Jfyi Canada (or at least, the part of Canada in which Cows lives) is eight hours behind the UK.

I think the Teamspeak thing is an excellent idea zoooom. I do have Teamspeak, so in case anyone ever meets me in Flashchat and would like to talk to me... Well, you got the idea.

by MitchB1990
Bah, teamspeak is overrated, Chat rooms are much better because you don't sound like your talking to yourself.
Posted: Thu Sep 28, 2006 2:37 am
by Ameena
It only sounds like you're talking to yourself if no-one can be heard answering, surely

Mitch, you missed the point of us wanting to hear what peeple sound like...if you hear voices when you are on flashchat or other chat programs, we really don't want to know....

Someone just registered themself as 'Tiggy' in the forum.
What with over 600 users now, I'm surprised that the name is still available. I wonder how many more DM I character names are still available in the forum?...

Are names limited to be unique? People are registered on these forums by their Usernumber aren't they?
Posted: Thu Sep 28, 2006 2:41 pm
by Ameena
I'd've thought only one of each username could be allowed (imagine how confusing it'd be if multiple copies of the same name were used!), but I don't know of anyone who's tried to use the same name as someone else. Try it yourself and see what happens

Obviously you can't have two things the same that are unique!

??? Oh, as a charatcer name, gotcha..but it does...but gotcha...but it does... : )
You can't registered with an already taken name - so, for example, if someone is accidentally delete or a post of theirs is, I can't post as a guest with that guest name and add the post back (tried that once or twice) as it rejects that name
Funnily not many people take DM characters names...i think there might be a hissssa and there is an iaido (but withnumbers after) and a halk the barbarian (and maybe a halk wonder barbarian who was different) . As dsaid, charatcer names could ge confusing if everyone took them wuuf the bika versus wuuf etc

Ah, well I think I've finally chosen a name to keep, instead of DesBroDain and ZoKathRa.
And I have my website avatar thingy reduced to 80x80 especially for here!

blablabla... linflas was always the team leader when we played DM with my sister.
in fact, i chose characters depending on the color and the portrait (green for linflas or syra, yellow for hawk, red for sonja or leif, ...) and my sister chose her characters depending on their cuteness... and linflas could have been a backstreet boy leader in early 90's..

I don't know what's more disturbing, that you know the lyrics to "Backstreet's Back" by heart, or... nope, that's all I got.

Considering you know which song that is, I am not too sure if you are the one to be concerned...

I could lie and just say I googled it.. but you know.. the fact that it was played on much music about 500 times a week when it came out and my GF at the time liked to watch that channel a lot is enough explaination.
What I found disturbing is how easy it was to insert chaos strikes back/ Dungeon master stuff in there and have it work so easily.. it was almost effortless.
I've figured it out.. Backstreet boys is an anagram for :
Trek boys et csb.
They are really a bunch of french trekkies who love CSB! either that or it's a message to "stab bret seckoy", though I don't know who he is and why they would hate him so... but anyway.. that's all I have..

seckoy exists.. and I'm sure if I went there .. it may contain someone named bret... but I don't want to go there.. just incase I have been reprogrammed to attack him with a rusty butter knife from all the backstreet boys videos I've been forced to watch...

I guess it`s Cows, but joined in... 1970??

That`s 31 years before this forum was founded, and 17 years before DM was released!
