That reminds me, I dumped some advanced cocktail stuff in the stash.

Swwet!

I made up some margaritas just ready for some cube magic to make them good. Remmeber, if they have a sexual innuendo as a title, it's adventure city! :D

How do I apply a tattoo? I've earned like a zillion but have no idea how to use them.

Go into "Account" and scroll down to "Profile Options", and select "Manage/view your tattoos".

I'm not finding anything in the pirates' cove that seems like it would help me cross the chasm. Ideas?

Heh...I had to tell Wuffy how to solve that one the other day - he laughed a lot and buried his head on the table. It's a terrible, terrible pun. You want me to tell you the answer directly or just give a hint?

Let's see how a hint works out.

Okay - you may have already found what it is you need without realising it. What kind of object might be useful in crossing a chasm (or similar)? Check for item names which may contain a word which resembles such a chasm-crossing thing.

I am completely retarded. Either I'm not making the connection, or I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

I think you first need to be adventuring in the cove in disguise - if you're not already, make sure you're wearing the Swashbuckling Getup. If you are, it's likely you're already had the item drop without realising it.
You have to go to the Untinkerer with that item and get it Untinkered, which breaks it down into two parts, one of which is used to cross the chasm.

Oh my. That was not obvious at all. How on earth did you figure that out?

My dad got there first and decided I wouldn't be able to figure it out myself so he told me :P.

Does either of you know where the black market is? I've searched the black forest for ages. I checked the market, the sleazy back alley, tried two bottles of hair dye to see if it would change anything. I'm totally stumped.

Edit: Never mind. I already had everything I needed. I simply hadn't put it together yet, literally.

Sounds intriguing - Im so behind in my KoL playing now! Still, I have about 180odd adventures still to use, so should be able to get somewhere...maybe... :D

Ok, I'm having trouble with the adding machine

I accidentally generated a sixty thousand and somehting scroll by accident just testing the theory

However, I don't know what I should have

30669 and two 334 should give 31337, but I didn't get a scroll out for that. Trying to work out what I need to generate - assuming it is then used to reveal the portal

Oh, I put towo cale de meil's or whatevre they are called into the clan stash, very good cocktails. If i get more ice cubes or figure out other good drinks I'll dump them in aswell

Cool...I've not made any quest progress for...ohh, maybe three weks or so now, 'cause I've been hunting in the same place over and over trying to get a bunch of objects I need for a familiar...out of 100 of these objects, I now only need about four, which is nice :). After that I'll probably do some bounty hunting...might get on with some quests when I can be arsed.

I find the bounty hunting best to do in parallel, or did to start with - thye tent to be on quests you are going for anyway, but the item drop isn't switched on until you accept the quest

Solved the baron thing - just neded a quick hint to keep going really, it's the one thing I don't like about KoL is that sometimes you need to keep plugging away to get random drops, and because you can do that to get more resources, then to experiment you are allowed to do stupid stuff

So the amount of scrolls i went through combining them different ways isn'#t funny. I guess that one wasa case of thinking it through first...

I'd looted loads of scrolls before my dad told me I should be using them when I meet an adding machine...then I managed to get the 31337 Hax0r thing and the whatever-you-need-for-the-quest thing (which I can't even remember what that is now lol) pretty quickly after that. Quest-wise, I'm still on the Holy MacGuffin one (level 12 quest I think) but won't be progressing with that for ages 'cause I'm still messing around doing other stuff atm :).

Ah, lucky you - no, I wasted all my scrolls giving them to everything else thinking the right scroll probably defeated the right monster to give you something, then it twigged that of course, the adding machine could add them

Afyter that I actually spotted you could get 31337 from three scrolls, but it wouldn't generate it unless you give the scrolls the right way (get a 668 first)

Also, since the correct scroll doens't have a logical sense (no C for castle) then it wasn't something i worked out, so had to fight for each combo

Ah well, job done :D

Never thought to use the dictionary against them - just because I have too much stuff!

I never used the dictionary on the mobs...but I think if you give it to the Baron Rof L'm Fao he gives you something nice in exchange. Can't really remember.

I think you have to have the dictionary - he gives you it back, and...umm...I forget what...

Can't have been that good ! :D

Selling off some stuff then I can dump some meat into the clan

by Ameena
Cool. When we get to 50k meat in the clan stash I might buy something...not sure...I'll see what can be afforded and then check with you guys as to whether you want a piece of furniture or to continue saving for one of the 100/200/300k items. I'm intending to get stuff which gives you more meat/adventures per day, mainly. I'll check again what can be had anyway at some point, when we have some more meat in the stash.

by beowuuf
Wow, amazingly that's what I've managed to do - go buy stuff! *bounce*

Yes, the more adventures per day would definitely be coolest

I was greedy and have been gaining skillz with my money - I now have some 'gte more chance of items' powers, haven't really gone for the attack options

Ran out of adventures, or I might have dumped some more cocktail stuff into the stash

Apparently guano coffee and herbs combine to make hippy tea, but couldn't make it work :(

If you give him the dictionary, he gives you another dictionary. It does the same thing.

The scroll thing was trial and error for me, too, but I didn't have to work too long at it. I had been using the dictionary right from the start and had no problem with the encounters, though it took me a while to think of putting scrolls in the adding machine.

I'm probably about halfway through the MacGuffin quest. I've been following a walkthrough on that because I got sick of getting constantly stuck in the game. I'd rather start making progress for a change.

I do a bounty hunt every day, since you can only do one per day. I pick the easiest one, or whichever one I can do, as you often get hunts that are in places you haven't even opened yet, and I don't think you ever get more than one filthy lucre from it, no matter how obnoxious it is. (I turned in 40 of something once and still only got one lucre for it. Very disappointing.)

I stopped putting meat in the stash because it wasn't going anywhere. If you intend to buy something, let us know first so we can help out. I'm not dumping anymore in there until we have some sort of plan. Skills are just too expensive for that, and I want to know my meat is being put to use.

Haven't been playing as adamantly lately, but I try to get on every day to get food from my arches and do a bounty hunt, since those don't stack like quests do. Most quests I've ever had are 196, and I went through all those on the stupid MacGuffin quest.

I've got the macguffin quest lined up, but given the level of damage i was taking and the fact i was doing no damage in return, i need to figure out better weapons and armour, or advance another level

So I need to figure out the plains thing - whether you fnd an obvious error, or whether it really is trial and error in all the various places until you get a clue

I seem to have all my useful skills, and haven't syarted smithing yet, so for the moment I might have some spare money (I guess tom and I are going alternate with that, I haven't contributed before when he did, now he's goign for skills while I'm free of them)

I'll keep doing cocktails now for the clan benefit unless I really need them, there's still a call de meil, I'll do a few more like that.

Annoyingly, don't know how to improve a spicy rum yet, so wasted the chance to do somehting like a strawberrey daquiri -> perpendicular hola

Of course I will let you know what I'm considering for the Clan Hall furniture purchases...can you guys look in the empty slots in the Rumpus Room and see what's available? I know you can't buy anything 'cause you're not Admin-types but if you can see what's there...do you want me to buy one of the cheaper items once we can afford something we all want, or would you prefer to save up for one of the 100-300k ones and get the cheap stuff afterwards?

What plains thing, beo? Are you talking about the giant trash?

Well, neither beo nor I can see what's available, but I can tell you all six rec room slots are free. There's nothing in there by default. If there are some low-level items that would improve our rate of ascension to the better stuff, then you might as well get those first . . . but if the expensive stuff is really high-end, I'm okay with waiting. When I've finished the MacGuffin quest, I should have plenty of adventures to farm loot. The sky area is great for that.

Holy MacGuffin is level 11. It plays on one of the game's themes.

Lol, cute adamo

I think, like everything, if we buy the low end stuff now, it will give us some adventures, but then we will ned to save up again for the bigger stuff. It's probably better waiting and getting the high end stuff right away

And yes, the plains trash adventure is the one I've still to do - maybe it's the fernath basement - I thought the dicytionary would help, it didn't - I must need heat protection for my hands, which might be a hez daze thing...

And I'm just level 11 now, so I guess it's more my armour and weapon choice that let me down
