It's not that, it's just that in general, people like to make fun of him so much. Poor Mophus! He gets no love!

Then again, I have never used Hisssa in a party, ever. I don't even know how many "s"es to put in his name. I'm not big on lizardmen. I've also never played with Halk, Syra, or a number of others because I don't really like them as characters. So I discriminate too.

My "standard" party is Boris, Tiggy, Gando, and Wuuf. When I first played DM about 14 years ago, I picked those 4 characters in that order, because they are the ones who have the highest mana, and I really wanted to cast spells. :) I still use these 4 most, and if I play with them, I always use them in that order. Seems really strange to me if Boris is not green. ;) Well, since Boris usually comes out as the strongest character of those, I guess he is my favourite character, followed by Wuuf and probably Halk for his lovely portrait.

unless i am mistaken, welcome t the forums two new posters! *waves*

yeah, does anyone else start convulsing if a certain charatcer is the wrong colour?

boris has to be red (or my main spellcaster) and wuuf has to be blue, and usually stamm or my lesser fighter is yellow, and the best fighter is green

anything else, or having the fighters in a different position, and it's...weird...*twitch*
it just makes good tactical sense though to have your two fighters action hands as close to the window as possible, and not split apart : )..and green/yellow *twitch*

i choose my characters colours depending on the 'Oof' sound attached to it, i.e. when your character gets hurt.
yellow is quite 'girly' or 'young', so my first choice is always for a girl (i.e. chani because she's the hotest and has a moonstone) or a young person (boris, tiggy). blue sounds 'older' so it's definitely for elija (sometimes gando).
green and red are similar so i try to be logical : green is linflas, red is leif.
of course this is not possible in RTC because all 'Oof' sounds are randomly played..

They make different "oof" noises? Weird, I never noticed...I'm sure it was always the same on the Atari and hasn't changed from RTC...

Uh, the 'oof' sounds are randomly played in the other versions too...

My fighters *always* have to be red and blue, my wizzie green and priest yellow. Don't have any particular favourite characters, though I regularly have Wuuf and Gothmog in my party.

run the rtc editor and load a dungeon, then go to resources > add/replace sounds, and you can play the all the game wavs.
@gambit : i'm pretty sure they are not played randomly in Atari version, maybe we should ask to Paul..

Amiga and PC definitely random -- p'raps it's just the Atari, though it seems odd. I think you're wrong Linflas. ;)

Characters without ears? Either Daroou or Hissssa... are there actually any more? ^^ Oh yeah, Gothmog, but I somehow never liked him very much... I guess he looked to creepy for me when I first played DM (I was just 11 back then), and later on, I probably thought he looked too close to a Nazgul.
