Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Ah, weirdy timed. I was in London yesterday, and the Veinna Hotel (beside Tottanham Court Road) was doing a projection thing exactly like this (I think, end of lunch before I'm checking stuff so will have to weatch tonight)
It was very cool effects - like rotating pillars, collasping buildings, and smashed out windows, and people in the windows, stuff growing around and through, etc

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Holy wow! I've never seen anything like that. When I started watching I was was thinking "How the hell have they done that!?" as I thought it was an actual 3D projection -- but then as it went on I realised how it was done. That doesn't take away from the effect though -- looks amazing. The plane coming towards you was pretty cool.Ameena wrote:My friend just linked this to me...it's just over 5 mins long and it falls into the "Woooaaahhh...cooooool!" category.

I imagine the effect isn't convincing if you're watching this from an angle, but if you have a good spot right in front of the middle of the projection, it must be pretty awesome

Here's the one that my mum and I literally walked in on. I think the vid captures some things really well, others things not as well

French presenter called Arthur "plagied" Craig Ferguson's late show. Arthur hasn't bought the rights : here's Craig's reaction...

The sound could use some work, but it's still cool:

^^^ He would have cut himself to pieces were it real!
Another Star Wars link, though this ones a biggie! They finally finished StarWars Uncut (i guess most of you know about it?)

Some of the scenes are great, some silly, some ridiculous, some very funny, most are low quality and some aren't even watchable they're so bad -- but altogether it's kind of fun, in a lo-fi user-generated way...

Are there any 'famous' people that did sections? I know the HAWP guys did the 'lock the door, and hope they don't have blasters' bit.

Dunno! I've only got as far as Luke & Ben finding his uncle/aunt killed by Stormtroopers. I can only watch a few mins at a time, it's not a "sit down and watch it all in one go" kind of experience...

I can't watch this video. Fortunately, I'm not interested in male nudity at all. Any female nudity videos, Gambit?

Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!

Well, yeah, nudity ain't allowed on YouTube, it wouldn't have lasted long. Get this stuff while it's *hot* (It wasn't hot at all, in fact if you really wanna see it, it's here: http://www.vimeo.com/17406812)
Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
LOL. "I feel a bit silly now." It's a nice video. Merry Christmas to everyone!
Honestly, I admire this guy's health. I'd have to spend a few months in hospital with pneumonia after doing this.

Yeah, just finished it, pretty cool. Some nice tricks to get somne of the levels. There#s one very symlistic three square level where it's all about jumping then shifting things aroudn yourself
