Yeah, I'm still pouring over my notes (hence the old maps slowly being posted) and I'll try to put up some helpful group and character notes for all of you.

Since we have a forum to ourselves, feel free all of you to now post your character sheets individually in a separate post, and treat that thread as your own personal note space. It can be handy to have things like stats, skills, and equipment in separate posts so that looking them up or editing them is less painful.

Uh-oh, seem to be down two players. LB last logged in saturday, and while money logged in today, there's alot of stuff I guess since last update :(

Anyway, I might give an extra day just to get you guys caught up, and then I might even push the narrative (unless anything happens) into Seeroc's room but give you guys a few days to figure out tactics and so forth (or to figure out how to get out again) ready to kick off even next week.

Play it by ear anyway!

Ah, interesting, I rolled a 3 for you, but I'll take your number :)

Will update tonight and hope LB makes an appearance and it's noting bad that's keeping him back (like lung stuff again, etc)

See if we can't get you exploring Seeroc's room and thinking strategies/escapes in the next day or so :D

Lol I like that - "escapes"....you mean, he doesn't just have a bunch of booby traps around his room to blow up anyone who dares venture inside without permission? ;)

Shhh. They don't have a rogue anymore. Don't spoil the surprises that will happen 'cause Ameena decided to leg it out the door to freedom.

Heh yeah, that's if she made it to freedom - I might now be a mysterious Ghost Player, condemned only to watch and laugh at the rest of the group as they work their way through to joining me .

Oh, one thing, I might have got my timing a bit mixed up in my last post. I meant it to be about what Westian was doing as they were walking towards Seeroc's room, so after they left the rat room. I got a bit ahead of myself, but it could be used after the next update. Feel free to rearrange if necessary beo.

I assumed so. With all the confusion of leaving the room, etc, Westian can probably sneak in making his own flask up (4d6 healing in one little bottle, woohoo!) but the asking for flasks would be at the end/going down stairs.

There's be a little bump in that.

As far as I can tell, your Aurek had two flasks from his adventures, one now empty and one still filled, Westian got three flasks from the soldiers, two of which he's given away (though one is with Farel), and Aurek swiped two tagged 'air/water elements' flasks from the room you met Brighteyes in.

So yeah, there is one more empty flask, but technically speaking you guys actually have six if you start pooling resources and also dump out some contents :)

Yeah, one flask was given to Helm before he and Ameena left. What's become of it now you may or may not find out ;).

If anyone makes a perception check later on into a dragon's mout, and sees shards of glass....well, what can I say, you'll know what happened to the flask :D And perhaps the owners.

Lol I can just see the group coming across the corpse of a small Giant Rat and wondering whether it's anyone they know ;). Because, you know, I figure that a normal-sized Giant Rat is gonna be rather larger than a murafu, but they must have youngsters running about too, eh? ;)
Meanwhile, ooooh tut tut tut, looks like Haynuus is getting the group in trouble, lol. Well, I don't think he's managed to do so yet, so he can score a point in that regard ;). So far Falkor's nuked a soldier, Aurek and Westian have triggered an attack by undead, and umm...actually I can't remember if any of them have done anything else which resulted in some kind of Bad Thing happening. Maybe talking to Brighteyes in the first place was a bad idea - he seems a bit...weird, lol. Maybe he's taking you all to a dinner party with Seeroc's pet monster thingys. What was it...grak-graks? :D

Grak-graks indeed!

Oh, and concerning LB's absence, for now imagine Aurek goes into some odd meta-limbo. The same place that your torches, backpacks, helmets, and NPCs sometimes disappear into.

For the moment, he technically isn't with you to interact with, and never has been, except of course he will always have been with you the moment LB comes back to post.

So basically, for now nothing bad happens to the character, but of course nothing good happens either, and only a certain amount of ret-conned actions will be allowed.

Anyway, I promised you guys a map, and then I need to have some form of food/bath thing happen.

Right, I realised there's ALOT to take in, plus you guys might suspect your sweet natured DM of trickery, so I will split your planning and actions into two parts. Anything you wanna do/investigate before the room (including how you wanna deal with the room - just enter?) and then we'll deal with entering and establishing yourself in the room.

The walls around are rougher than you guys will be used to - they are still basically the DM bricks, but it's like dissimilar bricks have been put together instead of the usual rigid pattern. The floor, too, is a little more haphazard.

The stairs down have been blocked by rubble (and looks unshiftable), and where the rubble has come from appears to be the start of the new passageway.

Brighteyes will happily explain, if asked, that Seeroc got his 'little ones', or grak-graks - to dig the tunnel out for him and block the stairs.

The party can also see that some of the walls look weakened - it's up to them if they want to investigate or steer clear.

If the party gdo go as far as the door, they will see it is a single door. It seems to be made of an odd black metal, one piece, and apparently the door should slide up into the roof. There is a small oddly shaped gem hole (empty) beside the door. No, it doens't correspond to the shape of the green gem seen earlier on level 8!

Any other questions?

Oh, and Ian, let me know if Haynuus leaves all his pilfered items, of if he picks back up the food and pouches.

The soldiers have all moved away except for the original guard, who is now standing watching you leave in a sideways way close to the stairs. You can attempt to give items back to him, or even just leave them within sight of him.

Or Haynuus can agree, let Aurek go first, and then swipe everything back again :D

Falkor, if you do somehow get to see the powder, it's a knowledge(arcana) to guess what it is and its uses, but an appraise check (raw intelligence if you don't have points in that skill) if you want to figure out exactly how to use it effectively.

The guard would probably back away from actually takign the items. If Haynuus wants to lay all the items (even the powder bags) down close to the guard soldier, he can.

And if Falkor or anyone else wants to grab them once Haynuus's and Aurek's backs are turned, then the soldier won't resist.

So you guys, feel free to make another post moving you on form the soldier stuff, and down the stairs. Will Haynuus act as the great distraction, or will he be too distracted by broken walls and so on.

Oh, and LB, don't forget that Westian will have asked after spare flasks - I'll let Westian have ominous conversations under the guise of spellcasting. In fact, he might get a small bonus because of it if that's used as a distraction :)

He just didn't want any ill feeling with the guard! Even if the soldier backs nervously away, he'd pass the stuff to the guard's feet and hastily move back to the front of the party with the gnome.

I like the image of Haynuus gesturing and groaning like an unhappy mummy...

I probably won't be around for the weekend, so I will update on Monday.

Lol, just realised it looks like I snubbed LB, when obviously I'd PM'd him earlier :D Good to have him back.

Right, this weekend, let's see if I can power through and finish all my fun note stuff to share with you guys. Also, not sure how it's going to work, but I have a surprise for you guys and your inventory management :D

Ooh, it just occurred to me, since Aurek levelled up OB, he gets his 'lay on hands' ability back again, now with the ability to heal up to 10hp.

Ok, map for the full area you are travelling in (includign Seeroc's room - DUN DUN DUN!) is here:
Image

When you get in the room, providing it isn't one huge trap and there's something nasty waiting for you, you can assume that you'll get to find out what the contents are, and you can also assume Brighteyes will happily explain at least the false wall in the top left corner, the teleporter hazes, and the table in the upper area of the room.

Nice map! Intriguing and a brand new colour :)

I still reckon that it should be in the Story thread though, for them that would want to peruse the thread?..

I try to do a different colour for each 'level' although some bridge through small areas. So the HoC level was grey, the level 2 (with mummy) was blue, the tomb of the firestaff was green, the level 6 you guys never went through is brown, and now level ten is light blue :D

Anyway, what's everyone;'s availability at the moment? OB might be away tomorrow by the sounds of it, I'm away Thursday evening and distracted Friday evening onwards until Sunday, LB seems to have dropped out for a day..

How you guys doing? Do I need to slow the speed of the coming fun so everyone is ready to go first thing Monday?

Obviously, still lots to do, say and see so the updates can keep rolling even if the positioning of everyone slows down.
