murafu-looking creature - Is Ameena trying to tell us something?

And for all we know we need to put this Gnome on the table to allow him to reincarnate or somthing :o

Well, you haven't confirmed that it is her, yet - you (or your characters...or at least, Falkor - no-one else has had much of a chance to notice what with being dead or whatever ;)) seem to be assuming that she's the real thing ;).

Euuu, noone's pushed the button. If it's the next round will we have the time now before the monsters start to act?

And I did find it funny, Ameena leaves partly because Falkor fireballs some guy. Then Falkor is nice and quite for ages, but just as he sends his next one Ameena just wanders by!

I wonder where Helm is...did he escape? If so, why did Ameena not escape?

Ameena ate him :)

Haynuus will have to push the button next then... Or is it too late?

If Ameena and Falkor are busy this round, could Aurek do it? Although that would probably mean an AoO, so I don't know. But if Haynuus spent one round dragging the corpses out, one round bull rushing he still has at least one round, and possibly three, to press the button himself.

Good idea about the haze btw.

To avoid (hopefully) confusion:

Round 10 (last round) - round 1 of effect
- Ameena ('Ameena'?) tried to push Soorec across to the altar
- Falkor opened the box
- Haynuus went to grab some bodies (move action there, move action grabbing them)
- Westian bled out a little
- Scorpion grabbed closest grak-grak

Round 11 (this round) - round 2 of effect
- 'Ameena' (or Ameena?) still trying to push body
- Falkor - throwing fireball
- Haynuus moves out of haze with bodies and dumps them (move action only)
- Westian bleeds out on floor a little more
- Scorpion crushes grak-grak, maybe to death?

Round 12
- Whatever you guys like without risking any AoOs, etc, though since neither Aurek nor Falkor have done anything with the scorpion in a while, Ian called it correctly that Haynuus might get grabbed as the next target if he gets close.

Note that by the rules, Haynuus still could have a standard action or move action left, however he may as well save the charge for next round if he still wants to bullrush the grak-grak round three. He could go to the switch, go to Ameena, etc instead but basically anything he tries to do would probably carry on into the third round.

Note that the third round is the third definitely free round without grak-grak interference. As anyone who plays DM knows, after that you start wandering when critters come back and start to thump you. As Falkor knows, and OB just said, you might have a few rounds after that free... it's just I'm not going ot telegraph it, and each round you'll have to act worried about the critters jumping out at you :D
money wrote:but what about the ? in the corner? Shouldn't we get that/it out or at least look at what ? is!
Westian has seen it enough to know it is just a dead guy, plain looking. It's where he snatched the holy symbol from. IF you guys think it's something more, then your risk to keep the haze down long enough for someone to pull the guy free. I might let you have Aurek autopilot that one if you think it's important.
oh_brother wrote:If Ameena and Falkor are busy this round, could Aurek do it?
I'm not I'm comfortable with Aurek become an NPC right away, or being pulled too far from where he is. Basically, for now he's where LB left him, and has only traded blows when it would be unfair on the rest of you not to have that happen. I'll let Aurek be autopiloted a little as long as he stays in roughly the same area and does something that isn't too significant. It's easier to retcon a few actions that way if LB wanted to thump the grak-grak all that time, etc.

For now, kinda ignore Aurek from your calculations except for something like moving the body or watching out for grak-grak movement, etc.
But if Haynuus spent one round dragging the corpses out, one round bull rushing he still has at least one round, and possibly three, to press the button himself.
He actually loses a round to gather you guys, but this is true, if you guys are lucky and no one moves in round four, Haynuus could activate the button himself.
Good idea about the haze btw.
Indeed, didn't actually spot it until Ian said it - with the scoprion grabbing one, you could safely bull rush the other hopefully easily, the final two auto-teleport in. You would be reasonably safe. And with the key to the doors!

Well, as reasonably safe as someone can be with an unsecured exit, the sound of other grak-graks coming, and two dead companions to manhandle :D

That is both a very funny observation and a very good question. I'd keep both to yourself if I were you!

I was. I'd never let you choose your own coffins.

Small Ardur runs out, small murafu runs back in, from a room filled with tricks and dopplegangers. Why the heck wouldn't it be your character Ameena? Geez, way to ramp up the unnecessary paranoia. :p
money wrote:And for all we know we need to put this Gnome on the table to allow him to reincarnate or somthing :o
Indeed, you guys will need to spend 10 minutes trying to feed his new form, and have him spit it back out at you.

Anyway, excited to see what you guys manage to do in the next few days. Just a warning, Friday evening until Sunday evening I'm away, so THursday might be the last update until Monday night. We'll see!

Maybe Haynuus could search Westian's pack for a flask if he still has a standard-action left in round 11?

Whatever happens, that button MUST be pushed. Will wait for the others to decide to do it or not before posting in Round 12. I assume that we've all finished round 11 now, and are waiting for Beo to update a little something.

Westian mentioned having a flask in his pouch incase he dropped, and yep, I'll let you use your standard action for round 11 to go get it.

And yeah, if no one is changing their actions, I guess I'll be updating tonight - feel free to plan round 12 now. Assume the scorpion will be free to act :)

Heh, nice update. Woo-hoo we got one.

I'll not post yet until the others have done so, with the intention of barging a GrakGrak or hitting the switch.

Heh, don't you mean "Woohoo, the Scorpion got one"? ;) Umm...and what happens when said Scorpy runs out of grak-graks? You know, that big, nasty Scorpy with a big, nasty claw that can destroy the horrible, nasty grak-graks...

I just realised that the two grak-graks that killed Farel and I are outside the haze (I did not look closely at the maps before, being dead means that those kind of things just don't seem so important anymore... :) )

So the timing is not as relaxed as I thought, I understand Ian's rush now! Better press that button soon and start pushing grak-graks. Although Ameena seems to know something about Seeroc and the altar, that might be very important to, I don't know what is more urgent.

Anyway don't listen to me, I got myself killed. :P

Two squares for the space, two squares for the haze - the grak-graks are right at ground zero when the hazes come back on - so they wouldn't be trapped behind it right away, there would be a fraction of a second where they would be in it before being teleported back. So don't worry, press the button now and they are trapped.

It's the scorpion and other grak-grak that are outside the haze! And yes, time is an issue there - while he's frozen that grak-grak is very easy to bullrush.

As to the urgency and suitability of doing anything with Soorec - who know!

And lol, you didn't get yourself killed so much as Falkor and Haynuus killed you :D

Okay, I would recommend that someone presses the button and someone helps Ameena. Maybe Falkor presses the button and Haynuus helps Ameena since he is stronger? Of the three things (press button, throw Seeroc on altar, push grak-grak) I would say pushing the final grak-grak is the least urgent. The button needs to be pushed, or else there iwll be a lot of trouble. I have no idea about the altar, but Ameena seems to know something. The last grak-grak...well it will be bad if he is not locked away, but at least the scorpion and Aurek can beat him up while he is frozen. And if there is enough time he can be pushed around later.

Just my two cents!

The suggestion that the button needs to be pressed this round is a good one.

So I'll wait for both Ameena and Money to act first, as per the initiative order anyway, and then Haynuus will prioritise throwing the gnome corpse onto the table/altar if the switch is already pressed. The half-orc hasn't really been 'interacting' with the others as he's been in a bit of a bloody mess!

Darn, away from my notes rigfht now (hoping I noted this). Can't find the post whre Westian told the group he'd have a flask in his pouch. I can find a reference to an ON VI potion, but not where it went.... so, yeah, sorry Ian, not sure how much healing Haynuus will get. Roll me 4d6 anyway, and we can adjust it down if needed!

I am pretty sure it was ON VI, that was why I could not cast ON YA IR this encounter.

Happy to see Westian's spirit is still affecting things!

Beo - I need to reply to your message but it will have to be tomorrow afternoon, something has come up at work!

Stupid real life! No problem OB... I think Falkor's question to Ameena justifies a good answer, is waiting for Ameena to update.

Plus I'm at work anyway until much later this evening.

But woohoo, 4d6 healing to Haynuus...I reckon he could do with that!

4d6 healing to Haynuus (4d6=13)

Damn, this is why my updates usually take all night in combat - checking out all this stuff. Sorry, trying to get stuff done ahead of me being away all weekend, only really have tonight and tomorrow night!

Anyway, yes, Westian doesn't have the potion, because he did indeed use it on the squire.

So yeah, Haynuus actually gets no healing, just an empty flask :(

Did no-one else have a potion? I remember Farel having one at some point but he might have given it back or something.

Farel gave it back to Aurek. It's an UM VI (3d6 healing). Falkor should have an UM YA (2d6 temp hit points)... I don't recall Falkor drinking it yet.

I vaguely remember that someone drank a Ya potion, but I think it was Aurek, back at the weird-undead-wall-thingy fight, and that it was one of two potions he looted ages ago, back before he joined the group I think. So that's not much good, is it? ;)
Hopefully LB will be able to get back to the Internet soon so he can actually post wtf Aurek's been doing this whole time ;).

He's still got one of those too. And Haynuus has still got three funny coloured potions on him aswell.

And I guess LB is moving house, so goodness knows when internet connections become available again! Aurek's been using advanced mental combat techniques peculiar to the paladin
