Would 2.0 be a better bet? I don't mind restarting as I can quickly do areas I missed. But I need a guarantee it won't freeze!

I've finished many times the game (1.0 and 2.0) without any crash; but I didn't use to break all the barrels, boxes and other objects. I don't want you play a game for a lot of hours and, at the end, it freeze. I must have the absolute certainty that the game won't freeze. What can I do?
It's my idea: stop playing! I will test the current version breaking everything, starting all the monster generators, activating all the knife-dart-star shooters ecc...
I'll remove other items (for example the tombstones will release only a stone instead 3 or 4, the same the tables and the barrels) and next sunday I'll put a link for a new version (3.0?)
Do you agree? I'd like also to change something according your opinions, so tell me what should be modify.

PaulH, I don't have the tools to find out what is the real problem. Maybe George Gilbert has the answer.

Well I am at the same place as before -
the stairs labyrinth
, but have exited to complete some other areas I have missed.
I admit I have bashed pretty much everything that can be bashed, but that is the nature of an explorer
I agree that you could use less items when things are destroyed, or even just less items full stop in places.
Noticed a bug in the shops - when I get the merchant to change the coins and gems, he doesn't do it with green gems, they just build up.
There is not much I would change - sure, we all have our personal preferences, but for the most things are well balanced. I might change a couple of the illusionary walls to buttons to make searching easier as
the gold key door in the sewer was hard to find! Similarly one of the keys to the well of fortune

Ok Paul. My desire is that this game grows up with the contribution of all the players. It mustn't be the "Adamski's game" but a game of the whole forum.

But yeah, I am happy to wait a while.
You could have the knights not drop any armour or swords - no one bothers with that stuff, nor worm rounds really.
It would be nice for George to have a look just what has been achieved with his engine and possibly make the item count larger.

There are many unknown aspects of the engine. For example I don't know if the number of the objects available in a shop is relevant for the total count of the items; or if a trigger (or relay) with many targets is "heavier" than one with only a target. The only thing I know well is that at the start of the game there is room for about 700 new items.

The item limit in RTC is supposedly hundreds of thousands, but it seems as though Adamski hasn't used anywhere that many. But yes, no-one can help really except GG. Perhaps there is some other problem not related to the number of items, but the *type* of items. I've noticed that RTC doesn't seem to like lots of triggers doing lots of different things at the same time... and if you've setup any permanent looping relay systems, that ALWAYS kills performance in my experience.

The most of the looping relays are non permanent. I should invent a mechanism to destroy items during the game, for example no more necessary triggers or relays.

He has been seen lurking from time to time (one time was very, very recent) so I would just open a new thread and post it there, so he can review it when he has the time. E-mails can get buried, the bugs forum is forever

Gambit, It's a risk keeping playing, also with the 2.0 because I cannot warrant it is a freeze-free version, even if I've finished 2 times. Next version needs a hard test.

Unluckily it is the truth

I was sure of the 1.0 stability, finished without errors, but PaulH's game freezed... The probability of a freeze game with the 2.0 exists because I haven't done any stress test. It is in progress and requires a lot of time.

i am now enter the tower and pick up a full party.
i have killt the giggler in the wax museum, but dont know how way to kill the archer and the armoured men
i noticed the armoured men
doing someone if he are in a poison cloud, but it seems not to damage him

yes, i take the archer to attack the armoured men, but it seems he dont take damage...i also do very many items doing this

Lai, don't create too many arrow with the archer paint! If you have done, sell them. Remeber, with too many items the game could crash.
A paint without arrows but with spells
doesn't create this problem...
