I'd been picturing them sort of like the creautures from the Doctor Who special "The Waters of Mars", only a bit more muscly and stuff ;).
And yeah, it looks like we're all doing alright so far - now all you need is some uber-cool anti-undead nuke, OB .

Now that would be cool, if only beo would be nice and give me one! :)

Now I had made a plan for me next move, but I just realised that it might be a bad idea so I need a rule check.

I wanted to get over to the water to try and drag Aurek out (as a player I know that could be a bad idea, with water elementals or what-not, but as a character I cannot leave a paladin from my order to just drown).

The sea-creature is in the way, so I wanted to shoo him. Initially I thought that I would walk up, grab the club and throw it at him (I got 11 + 4 = 15 to hit). But then I realised that I would be within 10 feet, and so he could become unturned.

In that case Westian would just approach the creature (not too close) to make sure he keeps running, and will leave the rope-area free.

Since I probably won't be posting over the weekend if you are updating you can assume Westian does the latter, unless the rules of turning are different in this in which case he will do the former! :)

If the creature wasn't so close to the water we could try the whole flank-and-BS thing again, but both Ameena (the murafu) and I think that getting closer to the water would be a Rather Bad Idea - even apart from the fact that the water (or possibly "water") itself seems to posses some power/intelligence/sentience, there's the fairly high possibility that there are more leeches and/or undead thingys in there. Plus more wasps could come buzzing along (What happened to that last one? Did Haynuus finish it off? I've forgotten now). And Haynuus is on his own now. And Aurek fell into the Nasty Scary Bad Water. In plate armour. And he (somewhat unsurprisingly) hasn't come back up.
If Ameena takes a moment to think about things, she will actually realise that Haynuus has been left alone and her murafu instincts will start to kick in and she'll start being a little more insistent that they reunite with him. She's obviously not exactly happy that this Aurek fellow has apparently drowned, but she has bugger all idea who he is so doesn't feel as bad as if it had been, say, Westian (or Haynuus...or Falkor, wherever he is). It's more a case of "Damn, he's fallen into that water-looking stuff which is probably very deadly, he's been in there a while, and there's no way I can help him anyway - it's a great shame but if he's dead, there's not much I could have done".
Anyway, distractions in the form of the undead water-creature-thingy (hey, maybe the Scary Water killed Aurek and took all his clothes off and this is him now ;)) mean Ameena has other concerns right now. Ameena will most likely voice those concerns if it looks like Westy is putting himself in unnecessary danger...

Remmeber, you can't backstab an undead, sadly. No vitals! Can still flank it though. The latest post will have answered the wasp question - he hasn't killed it, no!

You are both right with the undead description, and a little off. The idea is that it would start to be like the mutated pirate of the carribean thing (not the general design, but that one in particular is subtle enough), bloated with water liek the Waters of Mars thing. I think a little, as per that particular pirate, would be pretty . And the weight of water, and odd eager 'personality' would make it seem a little ape-like.

Anyway, Westian's prescence can still push the creature backwards, so Westian can go free up the rope area. Whether Ameena is right to think this is a bad idea is another matter - Ia agree Westian would probably try :D Westian shouldn't need to throw the club unless you really wanna - that would leave Westian furhther away for a precious round's worth of action instead of getting righ to the edge. I think I'd be nice and let Westian pick up the club on the way.

Speaking of nukes, reminds me of the plans (I don't think I fully codes it) I had for a custom dungeon under CSBwin. I had made space for a souple more of the bombs along the lines of FUL and VEN. There was a KATH bomb, which was to create a lightning wall in the sqauare it was set/exploded as a cool semi-blocker. Then there was the RA bomb. The idea being, you set it down somewhere, and run. Let's just say the phrase 'explosive dragonfire' and leave it at that. So yeah, it would have been fun to have coded essentially a level nuke!

Anyway, yes, cool to see everyone getting to use all their skills... I don't think LB had points in athletics for swimming straight downwards, so he must just have lucked his rolls I guess! :p

Lol, I guess so...and yet not quite, imagine it as one step from being bloated from orangutan status.

Basically, imagine whatever would disgust raixel most. Then post about it :p

Sounds like Petal is having fun. It'd be nice to meet her at one point though so don't go doing anything foolish! :)

Don't worry, you guys will meet Petal. Well, perhaps bits of her.

Or, you know, perhaps you can all meet in champion heaven, where your hp is infinite and all the monsters serve you drinks, instead of 'your ass'

And no, Petal's killed/dropped far too many things to consider being put upon. Thoguh I'm not keeping a runnign hit point total. That would be funny if Petal dropped dead and I never noticed. Did I say funny...I meant.... funny....

Oh, yeah, and I guess since the name got revealed, Raixel is indeed playing Petal of CSB and raixel's avatar fame. Try to stay alive long enough in the main thread to meet up!

Lol, blame Ian, he named her! :p You'll just have to roleplay. Or a bump on the head - that might remove your memory of that. Hey, do it hard enough, you might forget the last season of Dorctor Who, and could watch it again fresh! (Just rewatchesd some episodes yesterday)

Actually I didn't notice when Ian said it - I had just thought of Raixel's avatar and so made "Raixel" and "Petal" to mean the same thing. So it was you who spoilt it! Now you have to get the B4nz0r hammer out and use it on Trantor .

Let's not dwell on the namecalling and the exactly who spoiled what for whom, and just agree that Ameena's been very brave sticking herself in tendril's way infront of Westian!

Hehe, I originally started typing her moving away from the wate, toward the cliff, with a view to moving further along the ledge (to the north) once Westian moved over to join her and could hopefully help ward off the undead thingy. But then I remembered that actually, that isn't really what a murafu would do - remember that saying they have, about friends? So, yeah, she might be about to get herself eaten, but at least she's acting in-character ;).

That's a little closed minded, why does everything in the dungeon have to be eating people? Oh, wait, because so far everything's been eating you. Never mind :D

Oh, wonder if we'll see Ian again tomorrow - after all, he might have a reason to have a raucous time tonight! Well done spain - even if you did just cost me £50!

Err, I'm guessing something good just happned in Spain then? Ohh is it the World Cup thing? Is that finally over? Cool...well, actually, the media at large seems to have shut up about it a week or so ago...presumably England lost some time around then.

Yay, someone else who doesn't know or care anything about the world cup thing. From reading some threads on this board, I was under the impression the stereotype of you Euros n Brits being obsessed with 'football' was true.

Hey Ameena, lets go talk about something else, like unicorns. And leave the soccer thugs to their brawls :D

Lol yes, let's not pollute the sanctity of a DnD thread with stuff about a bunch of blokes getting paid several millions of pounds to run around a field while people yell at them ;).
Unicorns, then? Ummm, well...have you ever played "Robot Unicorn Attack"? That's a fun game - one of those "Ohh, just one more go" games. It was originally linked on this forum, I think under the "Cool stuff you've found on the web" thread, or you can just Google it and it'll be the first result you get.
Or there's the Invisible Pink Unicorn, whom I think was constructed as a similar idea to the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Hrmmm, I wonder how many unicorns have been made in Spore - it's a species I don't think I've ever looked for.
I wonder what'll happen when our characters meet up in-game. Well, you know, if we can survive this current encounter as mentioned, I've not been reading your thread, though I noticed the mention of "Oitus" in this one, so I have a vague idea as to where you might be. I don't think Ameena's ever met a faerie before...she will be most interested :D.

Nice idea playing with an existing character from the games, if I had thought of it I might have done the same. Since the champions don't have a back story (except for a very short one for Halk, Alex, Syra and Nabi) it gives you free rein to flesh out their characters.

I could even have played as Mophus, although that might need to be in an age-restricted thread.

I refuse to run the sort of sick games that would involve Mophus. *goes back to blood sucking giant leeches and bloated sailor corpses*

Wow, as I typed that second sentence I realised there was no way to spin it to being anything other than tame compared to what can get done in a fantasy game. I'm so sad now :(

"Poor abandoned Aurek lies sadly and abandonedly here"... :)

Anyway, just need to clarify our options - what do we know about left and right? (the directions on the map, not the concepts of left and right).

Can we see anyway to get up to Haynuus? Do we know what way he is going?

I would presume neither of our characters would know for sure which way Haynuus has gone (or maybe even that he's gone at all), but due to the lack of half-orcish yelling/hitting noises coming from above, it'd probably be a pretty safe guess that he's moved off in some direction. It would also seem more logical that he's gone onward, rather than back the way we came along that upper ledge due to stuff like it being a bit treacherous with that watefall thingy and he might fall off like Westy did.
Then again, this is Haynuus we're talking about, so who knows? ;)
