Well, the sword didn't stay there, and you know the healing power of Vi to start closing up wounds aswell as providing a little pick-me-up. So Ameena can grab the potion she has, or take the one offered by Deephold. Or both!
You guys also know the way back, so if you simple wanna run, just convince Petal to join you guys, and, you know, tell Deephold what the heck is going on, and perhaps yopu can attempt to leg it and talk

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but what level is the healing potion that Deephold has? Just so I know how much I'll be healing if she uses that one. I have the strength of the other potion already noted down in my inventory so I already know for that one, whenever it ends up getting used

Petal's backstory has been posted at the end of her character sheet! Go read it if you want to learn a bit about her past and what drives her.
Basically she has 3 goals:
Find out what happened to her brother and father.
Find out if Wuuf and Growlgra are alive.
Get revenge on Chaos for the destuction of her home.

I prefer to find out character info by in-character means - after all, why should I know stuff my character doesn't?

Rest assured Ameena will be perfectly happy to sit and chatter away with Petal for
hours about their differeing lifestyles, given anything resembling something remotely near half a chance

Poor Ameena hasn't had a real conversation for about a year, to be honest. Haynuus is a bit abrupt and a poor conversationist, the cleric has been a bit too human-like and has been concentrating on the non important stuff such as trying to not get them killed through diplomacy, and the halfling is the silent type.

Yeah, sadly Ameena hasn't really been able to do most of the "basic" stuff she'd be able to easily do around other murafu - talk extensively and have close physical contact, mainly.

I think I should hold of on posting until Money is back, otherwise he will have a
lot of reading to do...

Also, didn't Westian remove the nasty black armour before the party split? I seem to recall that he did but might be getting confused with Haynuus, but if Westy did remove his armour, Haynuus would probably remember to describe him as wearing...whatever he was wearing underneath/instead of it, I think?
Yes, Westian removed the armour. Underneath he was wearing a super-snazzy blue tunic and blue pants, of the type you might have seen Nabi sporting in the original DM dungeon.
I am still reading the main thread, very entertaining. I enjoyed the whole Falkor thing also!

Oh, some of the things asked and mentioned infront of Deephold got a little glossed over today. They will be revisited when you rest. I'm just not sure how much I want an NPC to be involved in the group dynamic right this second. Especially when you don't actually have any time for chit-chat right now
But yeah, some thigns asked or mentioned may well be commented on later.
Oh, and was eating at the time so didn't say 'so noted' to you OB about holding off on posting. Possible a good idea, although I also don't want to let your story stall either. Will figure out a way to do short bursts. Eventually. I can stop being wordy, honest...

Yeah, Ameena wants to spam Petal with more questions about herself and maybe answer a whole load about her own species, but she has realised that right now isn't the best time to do so

. She really wants to get back to the waterfall cave so she can ungunk her fur

Levelling up info for all you guys! (Sadly pretty easy this time around). This will happen for the main thread when you guys get to some form of safety (remember safety? THose were some good times...) And for Westian/Falkor when I time jump you (at some point I will say 'an hour passes' as you travel.
Haynuus:
a) +1 to all normal attacks (melee/ranged, grapple - not bullrush)
b) two skill points to assign as you want (I'm going to be nice and say the circlet is subtly teaching you - at least for now!)
c) +1d10 hit points (minimum

, and +1 for con bonus (man, Haynuus will be a tank now)
Westian:
a) +1 to melee/ranged attacks (and grapple, but you don't usually use that)
b) three skill points to assign
c) One extra 0-level effect, one extra LO spell, one new EE (4th) level spell.
Note with this spell slot, Westian can heal away his constitution damage in @one hour if he keeps using up that ON level slot. Westian will start to recall
d) +1d8 hit points (minimum 6) +1 for max con bonus (see above for getting back to your maximum constitution).
Ameena:
a) +1 to all attack rolls: melee, finesse and ranged
b) Your sneak attack damage goes up to 4d6
c) +1d6 (minimum 4) hit points, but -1 for your constitution penalty
Petal:
a) One extra UM and one extra ON level spell
Falkor:
Already written in placeholder charatcer sheet
Aurek:
Not to be levelled up as an NPC.

And I keep forgettign to tell anyone interested (like Ian) that there is another Penny Arcade D&D podcast. This time there is video aswell if you want to see it, all filmed at PAX.
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Feature.aspx ... re/paxgame
The podcast link is near the top, or you can click on the videos to see it live. The guys dressed up a little as their characters, and there are one or two funny sight gags like Wil waving around his sword.

Okay cool...one question about my hp increase (since I'm never sure on this - that goes for other games as well, not just DnD) - if my hp total goes up while I'm not at maximum (ie I've taken damage), does my current total stay where it is, or does it go up to match the increase of my maximum? So, I'm on 15/23 atm - say I got another 5hp from levelling, would I then go up to 20/28 so that it still requires the same amount of healing to put me on full health as before?
Oh, and woot to the extra SA damage, muahahaha

. Since I don't always do much actual hitting (or can't try an SA because the mob is yet another sodding undead

), I keep forgetting those little fiddly rules for stuff like how changing between lethal and non-lethal affects my ability to SA and stuff...I'll have to find it on that DnD website and actually check it so you don't end up having to repeat yourself about fifty billion more times

.

Oh I just thought of another question - does the -1hp (from my Con penalty) apply to my 4-point minimum as well? That is, if I only get 4hp, do I then apply the -1 to make it 3hp, or is it at least 4hp no matter what?

Yup, you only get 3hp. That's why I posted the con bonus/penalty after the dice roll.

@Petal: Nope. You have to be touching the area. Once Haynuus points it out, or Ameena goes towards it, Petal will probably feel that it seems odd to her anyway.
@Ameena: Really you should be levelling up when you are fully healing anyway, but yeah, you can assume getting smarter also makes you a little more confident and gives you more current hit points too

Ohhh I thought I'd mentioned that, lol, or maybe I'd just thought about it - I had thought "Ohh wow, level seven
is pretty pants - we don't even get any skill points..." but I can't remember whether I ever actually got round to posting it or just imagined myself doing so, lol. Yaaay...provided nothing more bad happens before we get to a safe(ish) spot, soon I can get better at more stuff, woohoo!

Ahh, so I
did mention it, lol - I just couldn't remember where. But I just went and found it in the other thread. I think I might level myself up tomorrow or something. Maybe when we get back to the cave and have a proper sit-down and a rest before Deephold smashes her guts in with his big spiky mace of holy doom or whatever he's gonna do
