Wasn't this thread about adding a new Pole Arm class of weapon to RTC ?

Unlucky Mule: Yes, it is known, that you can place a melee weapon there (that's why I call the first place of the quiver the scabbard). But unfortunately the melee weapon there is drawn first, before the other missiles, and that always bugged me: I would make use of that option, if characters would first throw their 4 missiles (1 in hand, 3 in quiver) and then draw their melee weapon, but as it is now the remaining missiles are useless. That's also a thing I'd like to see changed (Gambit: You don't need to mention it - I know you will object to that).
Cows: The mouse pointer is not Theron's hand, it is definitely the hand of the party leader, a picked up item there counts for the party leader's load.

Why do you think I would object to that Lunever? You're making assumptions about how I will react to your suggestion based on nothing but a few previous discussions. That's very dangerous ground; you've never met me, you only know one aspect of me that I present on these forums, but it doesn't define or limit me, so please refrain from making such a judgment as it is inaccurate and I find it offensive.
On a lighter note, your suggestion makes a lot of sense, and it would be a good change to make which improves the functionality of the game and is more logical. See, assumptions aren't good....
As for the mouse pointer, one could argue that although it is in fact the hand of the party leader, they are being guided by Theron, so in a metaphysical sense, it *is* Theron's hand...

yes the order of the quick draw bugged me forever too.. I would simply refrain from putting any type of weapon that couldn't be thrown in there if they were to have other throwing stars or what have you.
As for the hand.. it can't be my party leader's hand.. he's holding a key and a sword. so where does the extra hand come from if not from theron.
I see it as him borrowing their life force.. sort of attaching himself to whoever the leader is and nudging them.. wispering in their ear. This disembodied hand helping and showing them the way.

Since i've only ben floating (theron like) for a few weeks i've not really followed this thread well, and sine i'm finding it heavy to wade through, i wonder what anyone fresh will think!
Since it's a fairly radical idea, and we haven't really had one of for a while, it might be nice to maybe split the main points off and summarise them somewhere?
Just a thought...
Spear: Interestign idea, i like it, or perhaps better would be options that back characters can use to injure - that way you can include them in any weapon, not just a spear. Perhaps a staff of damage that can injury but also has spells, etc
Of course, really george would have to code it in the end : )
Quiver: Still support it, as stated - chest like, you can only open it in the hand, and you can only place it in the quiver section so you negate your melee weapon AND other weapons, but...
melle vs thrown: i agree about the melee blocking ther weapons being odd. At least it should let your draw ammo when firing a normal weapon, and personally i'd like you to be able to keep throwing daggers, etc
whew : )

Gambit: I'm sorry. With this assumption I've been just making fun of our previous discussions, which often went a similar course, but of course I didn't intend to offend you.

Done the spear (or at least added the attack methods that allow you to create items that can reach from the back row so you can create your own weapons like a spear) for V0.35.
