@Beo: The couatl has the flask, so you have to kill it....
I considered the flask with the Couatl, but figured that it would take too long to kill, especially with weak characters.
Might give it a go though.... The flask I've been going for up to now is the one in the barracks, which one have you been doing Antman/Charlatan?

Hello!
Hmmm... the flask I get is also the one that is in the Barracks! ^^
By the way, I sent a new savegame for this flask this morning, in less than 150 moves this time

Yes, Beowuuf, I'd very much like to see the logs. Can they be stored in a subfolder of the conflux-account under each contestant so they can be reviewed at will? If that does not take too much space, that is. Otherwise a download on regular basis (say a monthly .rar file) would be fine as well if there were a lot more to come, then they could be erased.

And since I forgot to answer Zyx, one more - I'd keep logs from public for the time being if that was the opinion you were asking for. When the dust of the competition has settled (and hopefully that will still take quite a while since it's only up a month so far)) the best / most interesting of them could be posted as downloads. At the moment I'd feel they are giving too many clues for new players that have not yet entered the competitions.

Charlatan75 just broke his own record, lowering it from 160 to 147, "just to prove it was possible".
I think the quest is completed once you have the empty flask in hand or inventory.
As for the number of moves, we'll keep using the information displayed by CSBwin in zoom x1, after loading the savegame and before playing, as this ensures the same protocole for everyone.

I've just sent off a flask game at 140 moves. I think this one really is unbeatable, maybe possibly by one move (if you keep the flask in the mouse pointer while selecting save rather than putting it in your hand though I don't think that would be fair).

I posted LogCvt at dianneandpaul.net/CSBwin.
If you decide to share your logfiles you can use it
to 'Convert' your files and:
a) Make the logfiles smaller.
b) Make the logfiles MUCH more compressible using WinRAR or WinZip.
This is the form I have used to distribute the movies in the past.
RAR and ZIP cannot do much to the raw logfiles. The converted
logfiles cannot be edited but I can easily write a program
to un-convert them if necessary.

Original non-competition entry for this: 21622
Next entry: 140
Gambit is back on the board with an impressive first minimal moves! And i thought 147 was good!

I will have to check this very carefully -- I can't see where you've made the savings.....

Flask in the barracks? where's the barracks? This is part of the reason i stopped going for it, but if i find out where this barracks is, maybe i'll try that. Before, i had been getting the flask in the captain's quarters on the council level, possible in about 160 moves if you can survive falling down pits with Lief, which means he has to take less than 36 damage.

the barracks/officers quarters are the same, or right beside each other..there's another sign around : )

The same one? I must have been taking the long route, just like the rest of my records.
Charlatan, how come you haven't beaten the rest of my records?, i thought my flask record was far superior to them and you broke that with loads of moves to spare. I really should get round to making records of the future mahcine and the dragon armour, at least to start them off.

3 Counter records from Charlatan: the Trial, the dwarven treasure, and the Crown of kings!
In order to clarify things, we'll consider that surviving the trial is getting the certificate. (so I added 2 moves to your recod, Charlatan75)

I'm still intrigued with the 137 moves for the flask! I must be msiing something obvious somewhere. And I have no idea how the lich vecna was done so quick, and I even have the benefit of my maps!

Did you notice that Antman managed a 136 moves for the flask?

Is using the speed changes legal? I hope so because i used 'as quick as a bunny' to wait while that really annoying group of screamers move away from a door in my latest record. And it still took ages. I guess it doesnt matter because it moves based, but just checking.

Things are tighting up. Antman matched the circus record, and won the lich record by two moves!

ooh, 101! so close to the double figures...
Posted: Sun Feb 01, 2004 8:55 am
by Antman
Double figures is possible for the Lich, but it involves falling down a pit, and surviving, and then waiting while his health recovers, then repeating this with 3 more pits. So, since Lief only has 36 health, I'd give him about a 25% chance of surving, and doing that 4 times in a row without saving is like 0.4% and you have to for AGES, even with 'as quick as a bunny' on, for his health to recover each time. And there's those mummies which constantly block the entrace to the Lich.
So i'd say about .2% probability all up, so it should take around 500 goes for a sucessful try, and at about 4 minutes average per go you end up with about 2000 minutes, and i can't be bothered and i doubt anyone else could.
Wow, that's alot of math, too much math. Anyway, I've been trying to get the destroy the council record, and i have gotten pretty close, i might be to beat it with a few more tries. And as for the Crown of Kings, the only way i can see to beat that is by using ghosts, and i'm sure thats cheating.

yeah, i noticed that the pit falling is luck with leif's heath : (
and lol, yes, quick as a bunny time, fine, ghosts, cheating : )
but hmm, i'm sure there are ways and ways...
