3(25,24) and 13(00,23) are both very much present in my save game as well. Especially the first one is a major problem. It is a generator potentially triggered by 7 actuators, 2 of which can be triggered by monsters. The second is the target square of a teleporter that is with a high probability populated by monsters most of the time. For 7(25,30) I cannot fully see the problem. The first two are bad enough, though.

-> Paul: I checked the "Queue of timers" on my saved game that also has hundreds of queued timers at 03(25,24) and got a "no problems" message.

hmm...i think i know what those would be (before the kitchen, the twenty-first hall, and the flood in the sewers, right?) Perhaps filtering it through a wall trigger first so that if a party moves away from the area the trigger and generator can be stopped, and if the party comes close again the generator is re-activated
it would allow the flood effect to continue while the party is around, but stop this excessive generation caused while a player's back is turned
Out of interest, does CSB4win still use the same dungeon management as the original engine, where only the current, upper and lower levels of the dungeon are active?

It possibly depends on the level I was on...i was on the mage guild ending, and had been camped there a long time - so i htink that means the level 7 generator could have started workign again for me...not sure...

CSBwin does what the Atari version does. All the levels that you
have visited are active.

all the levels, interesting...
i think PC DM at does the preceeding and next level,
it also does it at a much faster speed - i remember one area of my dungeon was annoying to start with, as there were fireballs flowing down the corridors, and when you first enter it they are stacked up so its a torrent for a minute or so until the previous level speed matches the level speed with the party on it again
edit: betwee nthe "!" and me jpking about not gettign the mail, i've jinxed it and am not getting the mail : )

Looks pretty bad. I experimented a little (playing/saving) and am currently at 127.000 active timers according to CSBuild rising pretty quickly. Especially the last section you mentioned (Moria, not Ku path like in my email, you're right) builds up tons because they are all monster-triggered.

Hello, I'm back on the web. I will study the problem now.
PitD: can you send me back the savegame? It seems my mailbox was full during my absence.

don't worry anymore, these bugs will be fixed for the next release (release H). Your savegames done with version 0.g are still valid for the competitions.

Well mine aren't but those of all the new competitors I guess ;o) Though there is a suspicious absence of emails with saved games yet in the yahoo briefcase...

None of the quests is quickly done. Even the empty flask, if you don't know where to search, may take a long time.
Also, I think players need some time to adapt to the new dungeon before really competing.
The only thing I'm curious about, is how many players are attempting (or planning to attempt) the competition.
I guess Charlatan75, PaulH, Antman... Anyone else?

Hello!
Hmmm... in fact I thought I was not allowed to compete... mainly because I drew a lot of things for Conflux II, even if I did not play before the release. ^^
Well, for now I've already seen 2 different endings (the one with the Crown of Kings and the one with the Prisonner).

Charlatan75, you can enter the competition, you did the graphics but saw nothing of the dungeon, so you are on the same ground as everybody.

it's a competition?.. I don't really have the time (same old song with me eh?) but I think I'll try to get time to play it.. I haven't even been able to do more than load it up that one time.. I didn't really see anything.. I was just checking if it worked. I really do want to see all the new stuff.. the only things I've seen were my own images and maybe one or two of Charlatans.
ahh well.

There are two different competitions - one for minimal movements for each of the endings, quests and sub-quests and one for reaching them in any time you like. So even if you have little time on your hands you can play them on your own terms and will still be on... give it a try, you'd miss something...

Hello!
I would like to do the Quest Competition then. ^^
I started a new game and sent an email with a savegame for the Quest of the Flask.
A small question :
"Survive the Trial" : is it the "Trial of the Burning Hands" or must I get a "Certificate of Innocence"?

certificate of innocence - the trial of the burning hands is less life-threatenign that it sounds, really : )

Done, game checked and rankings altered - you have 3 points for the flask!
Well done, first blood to you ; )
edit: and i'm an idiot, you have the minimal moves for the quest in a tiny 7028 : )
So 1 extra point to you!

I had the same problem as Antman with the download at the top of page 1 - it said graphics.dat was corrupted when I unzipped. I tried 3 times with no joy. My box is running XP Home.
Fortunately the download at the top of page 2 worked fine and I have thoroughly enjoyed the dungeon so far, great stuff!

Charlatan75 has completed two other quests. He's now leading the competition with 11 quest points and 3 record points. (Is he also the only one competing?

As for the problem for the download, I'll release another version soon and if Beowuuf and Christophe agree we will put it at both sites.

I'm setting it aside for next week -- too much going on right now. But very much looking forward to it...!
