The only creature i ever had problems with was the "demons" on (12,38,47) (12,42,39)(2) (12,44,35)(2) (12,44,30)... other then that the games just went smoothly... its fun tho trap a Rock-Pile on a corner and launch a poison cloud on it :)

I did start the Rogue Approach shortly after writing my last post :)

After some checking I decided to take Chani as my char. This time around I robbed Gando and WuTse of their throwing weapons and Wuuf of his flask. I do definitely like to twink :)

I played through level 2 only (or 1 if you discount the Hall of Champions). The only monster I killed on that level, was the first Mummy, because I wanted to see how effective the weapons are are. Judicious use of Warcry already netted me several priest and fighter levels. Lighting the way and trying out Invisibility gave me wizard levels.

Screamers seem to be especially resistant to Warcry. On three occasions I encountered monsters (2 Screamers, 1 Mummy) that seemed completely immune to it. I had to lure them into a room to then run around them. At one occasion I cast Invisibility to test its effect. Though the duration is only a second or so, it seemed to irritate the Screamer in front of me and he started to roam away.

This is a strange forum software. I take my time typing and become unknown in the process?

Maybe it's the real effect of the invisibility spell?

Hmm, I don't have such problems with the forum software.

Finally had some time to play my stealthy Chani again.

On level 3 I proceeded much like before: Apply Warcry on all monsters; Follow them into a room to bypass them; Or run around monsters that are too bold to be scared.

Because of the greater number of monsters around, there were more among them that would not be affected by Warcry. To me it seems like they get created with different courage values. Some of them run at the first Warcry, some after several and some few never run away. Those bold ones I tried to circumvent or lure into already completed parts of the level to lock them in :)

Still, for safety reasons, I decided to kill some of the critters. Gathering in the 5 missiles got tedious real soon, so I went for the Poison Bolt instead. In the Creature Cavern, I had several torches, clubs and small stones and threw those after the fleeing or pursuing monsters.

The next level should be a short one with this approach. There are lots of small rooms to get rid of monsters.

I have the most fun of the game in wacking the monsters, not running away from them... Besides, the point of it is getting to the big bad boss (whack him) and get the experience, right ?

well, you can't kill the big bad boss, so in the end strength is useless...ninjing is just as good a path as any other

I am sometimes in a mood to take a different approach than in my previous efforts. And XP is flowing in. This could be my first ever char with all four professions at master level :O
