Everyone wants to know the "Best" party of four. Well, I
want to know the "Worst" party. We can actually
measure this! And, at the same time, discover that
ANY party will do quite well.

If you say the worst party is A, B, C, and D then I can
prove that it is not so; as follows:

1) I say E, F, G, and H is even worse.
2) I play A, B, C, and D in time T0.
3) I challenge you to play E, F, G, and H. If you cannot
beat time T0 then I have demonstrated that E, F, G, and H
are worse. So you were wrong.

Then it is up to someone to demostrate that I am wrong
by suggesting I, J, K, and L and challenging me to play it
in less time than T0. If I cannot, then I, J, K, and L are the
worst.

Good point. The best party is the one you feel comfortable playing, whether or not the stats measure up. I must admit, I play games more furvously when I appreciate my characters, and I tend to kick a little more ass that way.

I think the best parties involve 2, not 4 characters. And for single player games, I cannot see a better character than Stamm.

Concerning Gothmog as a good magic-user, he is good if you resurrect him, and mediocre if you reincarnate him - all in all, I'd say that makes him decent, but not really good. Playing more and more, I tend to agree with Paul that 2 members is ideal.

Quite recently I added Chani to my team instead of Gothmog... and she's 2x as better. Higher wisdom.

Bah! who needs balanced? Go with all fighters.

Halk, Leif, Hissssa, Daroou

At adept fighter/ninja each, the entire party can absorb 2 mon fireballs without seeing any bones (and this with NO fire/spell shields). Magic is not too powerful, but more than enough... each can cast 2 mon fireballs before mana is gone.

If one want's a real challenge, take only weakling spell-casters through the dungeon.

Actually, the real challenge is to take one weakling wizard (tiggy) through the dungeon.

But on general your spellcasrers can blow holes in most things until you get enough health to start punching people and gaining ninja levels

The best solo plays I've had though are usually a single fighter character - punches and swings are less limited quantities than specllcasting with mana commodities
