I do remember the 7-13 without going anywhere else. I didn't use that. I didn't think it was worth fighting that golem.

I usually just let the golem wander into the large room then sneak past him...

I've always called that staircase the Central Stairwell. Even though I now know that there is one key too few to open all the staircases, I still forget and go left at the junction at the end of level 12 and open that one rather than go the other way down to level 13 and open THAT one. Because, you see, I normally do that end bit in a rush - from near the Spider Room (which I don't bother with 'cause it's a pain) I just kind of leg it through the last bit 'cause I can't be arsed to kill all the Spell Vines - nasty fookers .
