Ah yes, you remind me of the first time I finished Dungeon Master, which was 12 years ago and on the SNES with only one character: a reincarnated SYRA (I only played with one character because I found it more fun and immersive to play alone in the dark, if you willAmeena wrote:Hehe Beo I beg to differ - there IS a certain food supply on one of the lower levels...okay so ti's one-time only but you can hardly claim it's not nutritious.

Even though I never used more than one character on my copy of DM, I still found myself dangerously low on food (and to a lesser extent, on water) by the time I was at Chaos. This was partially due to my having to figure out every puzzle of the game by myself, especially in the deeper levels. So even though the red dragon which laired below seemed virtually invincible, I went down there and slew it first as I (correctly) assumed that it would leave plenty of dragon steaks! I can only assume that that is what you are referring to.
As far as stat-boosting potions and spells are concerned, I have never used any of them (it was always just healing and curing poison for me). However, when I was only on the 2nd level I once deliberately kept sleeping without eating to see what would happen if you actually starved, and I noticed that before your health starts dropping, your stamina drops to zero. It's no substitute for the ability to generate food or water, but some potions which restore stamina could be a very temporary solution in a pinch.
